    Good get OP
Kogan First though is next to worthless

  • +3

    Not falling for this trap!

    • +1

I'm guessing it's only a trap if you forget to cancel the membership before the second year. Or is it a laborious method to actually cancel the membership e.g. make a call to Kogan?

  • +1

Would go well with a kogan credit card application that has $300-500 store credit

    • +3

You get Kogan First free with the credit card fella

      • +1

It lets you cancel the card ~10 months sooner though

        • ?

          • +2

@ozhunter68: If you get a kogan credit card you get free kogan first.

But from memory if you cancel the card, you lose kogan first.

There's no point keeping a kogan credit card - they're for churning only.

So the Klarna offer provides kogan first and you can cancel the kogan credit card as soon as the store credit is received. Which takes ~2 months IIRC.

  • can existing Klarna customers get this offer or is it for new applicants only or for both?

    • +2

Looks like both, as the promotion just mentions checking out with Klarna. Here are the terms and conditions.

  • can you purchase a gift card?

    • Someone tried to buy a gift card before. Once you add the gift card to the cart, the Klarna option disappears

  • I don’t even know what to buy? Gift cards are only for kogan? There are no other gift cards?

    • Don't spend for the sake of it unless you really want the membership.

  • The complimentary Kogan First Membership offer is valid for new and existing Kogan First members.

  • +1

From the T&Cs, it looks like the first order (i.e. the $50 spend) itself cannot take advantage of Kogan First? It's worded like they'll send out a separate promo code to join Kogan First next week if you meet the eligibility today.

    • Yes, it's a smart way of doing it, so they can filter out the persons who actually want the membership and those who don't want it. Furthermore, they can filter out the people who forget to sign-up with the promo code.

    • Ah, I got caught by this. Added a few items into my cart to reach $50, but shipping itself was $20. Activated the 'free trial' for Kogan First, which got rid of shipping costs.

Paid with Klarna, and haven't received any promo code, only realising after reading this comment that I won't be getting it.

      • Actually, re-reading the T&C's, it does sound like I should still be eligible. I'll wait until 12 Oct to jump to any conclusions!

        • Sounds like you should. If not, I would be sending a very stern email asking why not…

    • From the T&Cs(klarna.com), it looks like the first order (i.e. the $50 spend) itself cannot take advantage of Kogan First?

How did you come to that conclusion? I read you can take advantage of the trial today and the offer is unrelated for one year of kogan first. If you didn't take up the offer, you would need to end the trial or pay afterwards.

      • ah sorry I meant for those who already used the general "1 month free trial"?

  • +1

    so damn dodgy Kogan.

  • has anyone received their code for the first membership yet ? i had a free Kogan First trial offer but didnt sign up for it as the beer i brought was free shipping and i didnt want to void the promo. i emailed them today hopefully they will reply.

    • +1

i haven't received a response nor a membership yet either… frustrating trying to get anything back from these guys. Klarna said to contact Kogan and Kogan customer service seems to be a black hole..

      • +2

they're happy to send me a billion emails a day though. will let you know if/when i hear anything

        • they send a billion emails every day about adverting sh*t.
Never arrive the promotional code that I am waiting for. Done waiting, cancel my order and will try to go away from Kogan.

    • Same here. No emails from Kogan and Klarna pushed me to contact Kogan. No response from Kogan as yet.

      • +1

Same, Klarna says email Kogan to find out.

If Kogan doesn't resolve this we could all email [email protected]

        the terms and conditions say
        24. The Promoters are Klarna Australia Pty Ltd., ABN # 82 635 912 579 of Level 16, 175 Pitt Street, SYDNEY NSW 2000, and KOGAN AUSTRALIA PTY LTD. ABN 53 152 570 351 of 139 Gladstone Street, South Melbourne, VIC 3205. You can contact the Promoter at [email protected].

  • +1

    On their Terms&conditions,

    1. Redemption of The Offer will be sent to the same email address as the original purchase receipt by Monday 11 October 2021 at 23:59 AEST provided you have met the eligibility criteria outlined in clauses 6 and 7 of these terms and conditions

It's the 13th today and still no emails.. dodgy..

    • +1

Super dodgy. Kogan aren't responding to Customer Service requests either so can't even get an answer from them - at least Klarna is responding (but not really explaining or resolving the situation)

  • No code here

  • +1

Came back to this thread to check if it was just me, and glad many others didn’t get a code either.

Dodgy promo, I would feel like it should be handled by Klarna considering the promo was on their website, not Kogan’s.

  • +1

Is there a Kogan or Klarna rep on the board that could tell us what is going on? 1 week after codes due and no replies??

  • +1

Just received a redemption email after number of emails sent..

    • Very sloppy Kogan and Klarna, offer a promo and then have your customers waste time chasing it up.

      • Actually, Kogan gave me a $20 e-voucher with an apology.. not too bad

  • Got mine on the 13th. Just checked my email. I didn't know it was there all along.

  • Still haven't received the offer or any helpful responses from the Kogan team even after numerous emails.

  • I was asked by Klarna team to contact Kogan team. It's has been more than a month and have even completed the payment with Klarna, I still haven't received any update from the Kogan team. Dodgy Kogan and Klarna. Does anyone know if I should bring this to Consumer Affairs?
