    | pork crackle is pork rind cooked in lard

    • Goal of keto is to eat high fat low carb foods for rapid weight lose. Many ppl on it lost 10-20kg in a very short time.

    Pork Crackle Cooked in Lard

    Sounds really healthy, not….

There are a lot of scientific studies showing saturated fat is not the enemy. Check out A user guide to saturated fat.

saturated fat is not the enemy.

Lots of scientific studies showing monounsaturated fat is a lot healthier…

      • Overall, the evidence both for and against saturated fats is weak and inconsistent, and individual responses vary greatly.
A user guide to saturated fat

This is very different from your misleading statement that "a lot of scientific studies showing saturated fat is not the enemy".

        • There are other studies. This is just the latest example. Given that there was never any scientific evidence for the "harms" of saturated fats, even when they were demonised in 1977 the US politicians admitted that they "cannot wait for science", that should give everyone a pause.

          • @findingbargains:

            There are other studies

If there are other studies that support your assertion that saturated fat is not the enemy, then why did A user guide to saturated fat put in the following disclaimer

This guide is our attempt at summarizing what is known.

            and concluded their article with

Overall, the evidence both for and against saturated fats is weak and inconsistent, and individual responses vary greatly.

instead of referencing these other studies to strengthen their case?

            • @alvian: The argument has always been that saturated fat is bad (since 1977). There is no dietary ingredient that general public fears more than saturated fat (you are a case in point). The fact that there is no evidence to support that it is harmful, despite numerous studies trying to prove so, is enough for me.

Given that there was never any scientific evidence for the "harms" of saturated fats, even when they were proclaimed dietary enemy #1 in the US in 1977, the US politicians that were involved in this policy (mainly McGovern) admitted that they "cannot wait for science". That should give everyone a pause.

              • @findingbargains:

you are a case in point

You have no evidence to support or refute this claim; my pointing out the gaps in your deductions and reasoning does not mean I am fearful or otherwise of saturated fats. The problem I have with your comments is your jumping to conclusions without presenting any kind of evidence.

    • Sounds crackly to me

  • Hey OP, sounds delicious, actually :)

PS Looks like you have a typo in the item's title: "Gluten Free Keto Unseasoned Pork Crackle 250g Prefect weight-loss snack"

Not really if you eat enough you'll have a heart attack, die then you'll lose weight 🙂 but crackling cooked in lard probably worth the risk

      • There are a lot of scientific studies showing saturated fat is not the enemy when it comes to heart disease. And by cutting out carbs and increasing proportion of fat and protein you will likely lose weight and improve your triglycerides, cholesterol and blood glucose. Check out A user guide to saturated fat.

    Hi Guys

I have added this coupon to the 1Kg bag of unseasoned pork crackle as well. Use the same coupon keto

    • Do you know how long a 1kg bag would stay fresh after opening? Or any tips for keeping it fresh?

      • Saturated fat, by virtue of being saturated is more stable and less prone to oxidation (which is also the argument against using inflammatory polyunsaturated industrial plant and seed oils such as canola, soy bean, sunflower and others). Therefore I would expect this to be stable for quite a while. But hopefully the OP can confirm.

Just saw this on the product page:
"Pork Crackle is ready-to-eat and needs no additional preparation. It can be stored for months without refrigeration."

  • Appears to be a packaging printing error as the heart Foundation tick is missing.

    • +5

Animals fats are not bad for heart health, according to current understanding. Sugar is the main food to avoid, and excess carbs

Tried their pork crackle from previous deal. I tasted really good, highly recommend!

    • What type of crackling is it? The puffy airy type or the harder desner type?

      • +3

It's more on the denser side of things but not hard at all. I find it a bit puffy that I never find a piece that is hard to bite into, but dense enough to get burst of flavour.

The discount is $5 per a shipping basket, so the discount is limited to one bag - perhaps should the description should be more clear otherwise sounds like one can purchase multiple bags at $9.50 each.

    • Was keen on two considering the shipping

  • Can recommend their flavoured one
