Where Do You Buy Your Business Clothes Online?

I have been given a $300 clothing allowance from work to buy work clothes.

Only condition is that the shirts need to be blue (any shade). I would like to buy at least 3 good work shirts and 1 pair of pants. I'm working in a small accounting firm. I already have some business clothes that will get me through for now so can hold out for a bit. I don't need a jacket, ties, shoes or a belt.

Does anyone have any recommendations or are there online stores that have regular sales on good quality work clothes?

        Uniqlo is a rip off

They make passable business pants with a free hemming service for $60. How is that a rip off?

        • What do you suggest as an alternative, then?

I really liked Brooksfield for shirts and Sax Altman for pants. Bought a bunch of them only to discover I'm probably never going back. 😞

I always take comfort over looks and, with sensitive skin, am not one for tight clothing. But I think they look pretty reasonable too.

For online orders, do it with Myer/David Jones and you can return if issues. Brooksfield delivers too with some returns policy - but I only used online once with them.

  • Off the rack or made to measure?

I have some stuff (a suit, 3 shirts) from Institchu that is made to measure and you can customise them (collar, material, cuff & pockets are customisable). I think they having a 25% off sale on shirts and 20% sale on made to measure pants. Overall, I think for the pricing it is pretty decent and I like the fit and materials chosen.

    • Seconded for these guys.

Neat n trim had a sale a few months ago and I got like ten shirts and two pants and a jacket for like $250. If you have time just keep an eye on the clothing section of ozbargain deals

  • Business clothes? Do you mean sweat pants? If so, then Kmart.

    • Trackies and a Polo shirt…When a senior manager is on the Teams meet, Trackies and T-shirts for all else.

I've bought my office work shirts from https://www.charlestyrwhitt.com/au/home for 20 years. Started buying them when I was in London and would wander Jermyn St to see what I liked; now just online. That said I now have a wardrobe full of shirts and suits I will probably rarely wear again with WFH the new normal for me.

poor bloke, having to go into the office

  • I put my Cotton-On biz shirts in the dryer on low and they still shrunk so there's one to avoid.

  • Shirts are always Charle Tyrwhitt for me.

Pants I have varied success, but I have actually found I really like the fit and quality of the target brand slim chino's.

While I have jumped around a few different brands (Uniqlo, some other more well-known brands) I never loved the fit or how long they lasted for, the target ones have been good over the last few years.

  • Lowes.

  • Try Zara… Or get some chino's from Asos.

  • Indochino for made-to-measure suits.

  • NNT corporate wear have some bargains periodically. Last week they had shirts for $15. The cut is ok, they are cheap and pretty good quality.

These are good to buy online, if you have any issues you can take them to a local store to exchange sizes or get an instant refund
