My Skype Online number is due for renewal. Gone are the days of Coles/ Woolies discounted cards.
Any other service provider that allows for porting over of Skype Online number with a reasonably low monthly sub?

It's useful for calling people who don't have/use WhatsApp. And useful for people who are in countries where WhatsApp calls/videos are blocked.
I ported my Skype number to Crazytel - took 2 weeks or so but now only $4.20 a year :) https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/9n1j1mkq
Crazytel support is brilliant.
I did have a problem that Skype was re-leasing my number to other Skype users after the port, but spoke to those users when they were test calling it (!) and explained that I ported it away and they were able to get a new number from Skype.
Wow… this is an awesome service I knew nothing about — Skype charges me 40 cents/min for 13 numbers, but Crazytel is 22 cents per call!
Skype was leasing out your number even after being ported out? geez …
did you have to pay for the call forwarding service and time duration of the calls that were forwarded to a mobile over at crazytel?
nope, since the number had already been ported, my crazytel extension was ringing…
It seemed that Skype put the number back into the allocation pool and then allocated it to a Skype user when they requested a DID - even though Skype had no way of terminating it lol
I've noticed that Coles/Woolies no longer sell Skype gift cards. Does anyone know why they've discontinued? I can buy Skype cards online, but Coles and Woolies occasionally offered the cards at 50% discount. I agree - Crazytel looks like a good alternative to Skype. Thank you.
If you wanted some credit at 50% off we may be able to sort something out :)
Sorry everyone, I'm all out of credit now :(
Yes I need Skype credit , how ?
What's Skype?
So 2000-2018! Ppfftt…
Lol
If it's just personal chat, why not use whatsapp?
