cant tell from the box … if they are color changing or just white hue changing?

    • +3

White and colour. I wanted replacements for my white only Hue bulbs.

You can see the colour scale under the text on the box.

Just FYI, Costco sells a 6 pack for about $40. V-TAC brand, GU10, white and colour, works with Amazon Alexa. I've been using these for many months now, and have had no problems.
Edit - they are $56 shipped on the Costco website, if there isn't a store near you.

How this one is different to Kogan one, which are 2 for $13 -
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-smarterhometm-5w-colour-c…
I’m not an expert so just want to know if Kogan one would be better based on price?

    • +2

Kogan ones are the same pretty much. Both are Tuya

      • Thanks mate. Any reason then to buy this one over Kogan, which is essentially 50% cheaper?

        • +2

Nope more just delivery time delays from Kogan. I'm using 4 Gu10 Kogan ones in my front door lighting. Works fine for me. Trigger them via Smartthings using my door sensor and also motion sensor. Convoluted integration but it works with a second or two delay

    • Looks like Kogan are sold out…

  • Can this be used without alexa etc? Control via an app or webui?

    • +1

U can use the Genio app

      • Thanks

        • I use the Brilliant Smart (Brilliant Australia) app. They were nice enough not to turn off their IFTTT service when IFTTT put their prices up.

    • Can also be used with the Tuya Smart app

    • Genio app and the box also says Alexa /Google but I haven’t tried that.

Edit… sorry, read your question wrong.

  • I have the e27 ones through the house - app is actually pretty decent, prob the best of the Chinese apps I’ve played with and definitely the least amount of stuffing around to get working.

My only gripe is lowest setting 1% is actually still really bright. I use them for night lights.

  • Can these be used with home assistant? Does it have to be flashed to work…?

    • I have older tuya bulbs that I’m using with home assistant.

However the response time is slower since its Not local control.

You bulb connect to a cloud server and home assistant talk to that cloud server to turn the bulb on or off, if you get what I mean.

Given it's a Tuya powered device there is a good chance the currently developing/released(?) Tuya integration will support without flashing, local control has been announced to be coming also.

  • They’ve still got then at this price, they were this last week when I got them, must have extended the sale price to this week as welll.

  • does the dimming work on standard house?
