Not the most appetising of meals to me, but to each their own.
My understanding is it is not harmful in small doses (if we are considering dog and cat food, not other pet foods such as fish food). The food standards required of petfood is pretty high, and since this one is in cans it should be sterile. However since animal and human nutritional needs are different it may be harmful in the long run, depending on the content of the particular cat chow you want to consume.
I also remember a while ago a few ACA news programs that apparently reported on pensioners having to get by on petfood as they couldn't' afford human food. Though being reported by A Current Affair, especially at that time, does not mean there was any truth to that story
Additionally you may develop the urge to start licking your groin which is unsanitary
