    • Their t&c's state that if Netflix credit is unused you get the full refund, but if it's used then you get $99 back. So I guess they do anticipate that it will be used?

    • How long did your Netflix voucher take to arrive? I set my Chromecast up three hours ago and haven’t gotten an email yet. Tried Google chat and they kept telling me to check Priority events in my feed in the Home app for a Netflix offer to resend the email but there’s nothing there

      • I got it straight away. As soon as I set up the Chromecast it sent me an email for the Netflix.

  • Orders got cancelled because of "issue" with payment information. I have been asked upload image of payment method AND government issued ID. Extremely reluctant to do this. Google chat support were pretty much useless and had no idea why payment was cancelled.

    Anyone had similiar issue and how you resolved it? Not sure the voucher code will work after I place another order (emails claims it should work). Sigh.

    This user experience is far from ideal and I don't understand how a large tech company can't work an online store.

      Hi jj1,

      I wasn't asked to provide those details. The person I spoke with at Google Store Support escalated the issue so that if I purchase the product now, and then get back to them, that I would get the difference refunded. However, I am interested in the Pixel 6 coming out soon so I am following up to see if that discount code is available to if I decide to repurchase the Chromecast with Google TV and Netflix Bundle.

    • Mine is still at 'ordered' from the 27th… how did yiu see the order had an issue with the payment information?

      • Mutiple order cancelled email and another email that said google pay account needed to be verified.

        I ordered on sat morning so yours is probably still waiting to be processed

  • So the youtube app on here autoplays in a loop a low resolution 2 second preview of whichever youtube video is selected.

    Super annoying and something that is not present in the youtube app in my TV.

    It doesn't seem you can disable it. Not sure who thought this was a good idea. Totally dumb.

    • Is he on Aust Netflix? My google acc and my Netflix account are different emails but it went through ok.

      • yeah, they're on Australia Netflix. The google account and the Netflix account is different also.

        • Update: Figured it out. The Netflix was originally made in 2015 on a US VPN so just had to turn on US VPN and I was able to redeem :)

          For some reason though, it's only $83.94 in credit…

            Now… is only I could find an INDONESIA IDR Netflix account to apply my credit too…

    • Set up your Chromecast. You'll then get the email to redeem Netflix credits.

      • It’s been a week since activating the Google TV and I haven’t received anything.

        • Was there a Netflix sticker on the plastic wrapping? Mine says "With six months of Netflix. See g.co/cast/netflix for terms and conditions"

          To be honest don't recall exactly what I did because it went smoothly and it activated with no issues.

            On the chat to Google now, so far it’s been hopeless.

            • @bargain ben: Apparently my problem is too hard… I spoke to 6 different people and no one knew how to solve my issue. Hopefully someone who can think outside of the box will get in touch with me soon.

                I had the same issue as you.
                I set up the chromecast using the remote rather than home app. Perhaps that causes the glitch?

                Anyway the "move device" solution listed in the FAQ worked for me. While the email never arrived, a netflix voucher appears in 'feed' within the Google home app once you 'move device.'

                  @PJC0047: You are a genius mate and should work for Google support, this has solved my issue. I’m still waiting on Google support to help me.

                  I did setup the Google TV via the app, I think from memory it stopped about 75% the way through and I completed via the remote.

    i use my account and getting my recommendations and feeds, history etc. Great, but how to manage this when my wife wants to watch with her account and recommendations? It appears you cannot just switch accounts easily even though she is a family member in google home ??

    Please note that there isn't a way to directly switch accounts, but you must sign out of the current user and re-sign in with a different account within the YouTube or YouTube TV apps. You can use YouTube (and YouTube TV) with any account that has been signed in to your Google TV.3

    how does that all work with different family members using the same device and tv???

    • You can try inviting other people in the Google Home app. They can then get access to all the connected Google devices. I think you can then switch users in the app. I haven't tried this, but looks like this might be what you need to do.

      • i have 5 family members in the home app but still can't switch to their accounts easily in the chromecast tv.
        seem to need to logout and log in as another user…something doesn't seem right.

        • Yup, a bit of a PITA. I am logged in to my Google account at my parents as my dad wants YouTube Premium but I can't set up the individual Chromecast to play from specific profiles. Weird that it isnt Chromecast based but account based. I keep getting their "continue watching" on my TV, now I gotta keep my watching habits to M 15 🙄

    • Same, see PJC’s comment above on resolution. In my case my Google TV was not assigned to a room in my house, once it was assigned a room, blah! Got my Netflix code immediately

      just have to palm of the credit to a fam member or something.
      Wouldn't mind opening the other one to test - seems the enter button isn't as responsive as the others,hmm.

      Just tried installing a file manager, seems there's no accessible storage at all - guess i need to get a hub and ssd from Amazon. Kind of a waste as i have the Google ethernet adapter for it (was $20)

      Not really worth spending too much on it at all, but was trying to get the new phone app remote working (they decommissioned the Android TV remote), always flakey all this crap
