Anyone get today's daily deal which was a KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer? I tried to submit my payment at 12:04 and was sold out.
Is it a matter of how quickly you hit the "buy now" button or how quickly you complete the whole checkout process that determines whether you might be successful or not?
I am guessing you're trying to get through at work? If so, probably some sort of proxy/appliance is displaying whatever it's got cached while the Amex site crapped itself at handling the requests.
any news on the olympus camera and panasonic video camera? anyone received yet?
Nope. Don't expect anything till later this week or early next week is what I've got told by Amex/Pin Point.
The Panasonic Video Camera didn't get released for sale till late March so I guess we still have to wait. 28 days is the time frame they say.

The Olympus camera arrived like 10 minutes ago so the wait is over. Still got the Dyson, Mothercare cards and the Kitchenaid #2 to go.
Is it too early to get a review on the camera's performance?

Is it normal to come in a box displaying the white model, with a sticker that reads "Empire Red" on it?
My box had been opened (tape was sliced open).
Also the mixer inside is sitting just inside the styrofoam, no plastic wrap over it. Again, is this what others got?

I got it the first time around. I had it exactly like you describe. Semi looked like it had been opened. But inside looked new. I dont think it is refurbed but your guess is as good as mine. My favourite bit was that free amex bag that came with it. Score!
Now I've got like a half a dozen of those bags in the house…

manage to get the samsung galaxy tablet today but prefer to have the KitchenAid mixer. anyone interested in swaping KitchenAid mixer for the samsung galaxy tablet (of course i will pay for the difference in price, $40)

Will a mixer go out of fashion…? Nope. The Kitchenaid's biggest attraction would have to be its retro look.

it depends on how you, personally, value a mixer or a tablet.
i dont have a mixer and i dont need one, so the value of kitchenaid is far less than a galaxy tablet. even if the tablet depreciates a lot, it has nothing to do with me. i dont consider selling it in a couple of years.

karenc's probably need to do a lot better than the $40 difference to entice people to do the swap. She might be better off selling that to the nearest pawnbroker for $250 and put that towards the Kitchenaid…
Kitchenaid #2 arrived this morning.
Looks like the Dyson's on the same boat as the Olympus camera i.e. shipped later than Kitchenaid #1.
Goodies still outstanding: Dyson and Samsonite. Gotta give it to Pinpoint, it must've been helluva crazy month for them particularly with the Gold Class tix ~ couple of hundreds at a time.
IIRC they're also the team responsible for some of HP's past cashback deals. If they're indeed who I'm thinking of then their performance have greatly improved since then.
