Ok guys there’s now a heap of eBikes available and I’m looking to get one for my dad. His values are comfort and cost, I would also chip in for quality and value. Price range $1000-1500. Upright cruiser style with relaxed sitting position is preferred. Please let me know your recommendations and experiences.
Cheers

I was originally looking at eBikes in the $1000-$1500 range. I spent a long time considering Lietner (Cross X and Ultimate) but decided against buying after researching the parts they use.
I then came across NCM and really liked their Venice eBike ($1700 at Leon). The electric motors in NCM were highly rated and had a good volume of reviews. I purchased the NCM Venice Plus for $2000 with a discount code from JotBikes. The better shifter, derailleur, hydraulic brakes and slightly bigger battery were enough to convince me of the Venice Plus instead of the standard Venice. The ride has been very good so far!
Cell also have some great urban e-bikes worth considering.
My recommendation is to consider the components on the bike when reviewing different makes and models. I decided to spend $500 over my initial budget, because if I were to purchase the components separately, such as upgrading brakes, groupset, etc, it would cost double for the parts plus labour/effort.
What parts on the Leitner bikes you don't like? was thinking of buying a Leitner too.
At that price point it's pretty hard to go past Cell, NCM (Leon Cycle), XDS or Sunmono.
