Recently upgraded to AMEX Qantas Ultimate from their basic card range and part of the promotion/upgrade bonus was points and travel credit.
Now received an email from AMEX that they published incorrect information regarding travel credits, extracted below:
"Dear XXXX,
Thank you for your recent upgrade to the American Express Qantas Ultimate Card. We hope that you are enjoying your new Card.
We are writing to let you know that the email invite we sent you to upgrade to the American Express® Qantas Ultimate Card contained incorrect information. In this email, we incorrectly stated that the Annual $450 Qantas Travel Credit1 can be used on flights, hotels experiences and more at Amex Travel Online.
The correct information is that the $450 Qantas Travel Credit1 can be used towards international or domestic Qantas flight booked online at American Express Travel each anniversary year."
So they are limiting the use of credit to be exclusively on Qantas flights now…..
I wonder if anyone has spoken to AMEX about this error regarding the usage of credit because it could be viewed as false advertising when people signed up at the beginning?
Thanks for contacting OzAmex hotline, please hold the line for a customer rep.
