But there's a LOT of debate about office chairs around these parts, so wanted to check in first. I haven't got the budget for the really nice chairs people have mentioned here previously, but can stretch to around $300 if need be. Happy to not buy from Kogan, but if they have it and I can use my credit and never deal with them again that would be great too.

Whats the beef with Kogan?
Dodgy company notorious for cheap rebranded junk or grey market imports without disclosure, lack of decent customer service and poor practises like price jacking. Not to mention being sued/fined several times and labelled as shonky by Choice. Avoid supporting them.

I can highly recommend the BW-HOC5 — has a mesh back, no mesh on the seat cushion but it is very well padded. Great lumbar support that is adjustable.
Can you wait? IKEA are releasing a host of new "gamer" kit in collaboration with ASUS ROG that is likely to be decent quality and reasonably priced. There's several chairs in the new range.
