I put the lotions in the basket

  • Can anyone speak to the differences between "daily moisturizing" and "skin relief"?

      Label says it all

Lol to the down voters. Info is literally on the label and Amazon pics. 2 clicks required. No one below has mentioned the key differences.

‘Skin relief’ has a cooling effect (menthol) and is for “Very dry and itchy skin” and ‘daily moisturising’ is for “Normal to dry skin”. The active soothing in the ‘Skin relief’ is more a treatment action than regular moisturising.

Having used both, the ‘skin relief’ cooling works wonders on sunburn and itches, and is a bit thicker and longer lasting than the standard. However both are excellent on dry skin so you can’t go wrong if you’re trying for the first time. I find that I add it into my routine once a blue moon when my skin gets particularly dry from aircon, wind or sun exposure. I would say daily use for any of them would only really be for very dry skin and definitely not the face as the oils stay (at least on my skin) for more than a day/1-2 showers worth.

One is a cream (skin relief) - it is therefore thicker and provides better "relief" - it might have more oat meal for irritation as well. The other is a lotion = more runny/watery, easier to apply, less greasy, but less effective at keeping the skin from drying out, therefore will require more applications during the day for very dry skin.

      • Great, thanks for that!

I have both though they're almost out (got about 3 yrs of daily use from them) so I'm about to buy again. Everything MrBeeTee said is right. I don't really notice a huge difference between them to be honest but I'll get 1 of each again. If you're going to be out all day in windy weather the skin relief one will last longer but they're both great. My skin used to flake like crazy, hasn't in 3 years.

EDIT: Oh you can only buy 2 of the one type. I'll get the daily moisturiser then.

          • @Click_It: Cheers. Ordered! Let's see how it compares to good old Redwin sorbolene!

@ash2000: Huge improvement over sorbolene. We always had that stuff in the house growing up, it seems decent until you use Aveeno then you'll never go back.
