I'm about to start using the Woolworths Mobile prepaid sim.
Their website says:
$250 to any Optus or Woolworths Mobile within Australia
Does it include calls to mobile phone companies using the Optus network?

Last week, I bought one Woolies sim card and recharge voucher on the same transaction (must be bought together) and was half price and even cheaper if you have rewards card. Check with them and if still on,you can buy a couple more for later use. They all expire 01/11/2012.It's worth a shot..
Yes, that's what I did. My partner will be using them. I barely make calls, use free sms, so all I need is ability to call partner (or vice versa) and data. Just wondering if it's worth going with an Optus reseller.
I also have an Exetel landline where I can make unlimited calls to Optus phones/resellers so would be good if I can get them all on the Optus family.
I know that for my Exetel mobile to Exetel landline, the calls aren't included in "exetel-exetel" allowance, only other mobile plans. Don't know if this would be similar for other brands?
Optus reseller ???? I ported my Optus number to Woolies without a hassle. I called them up, told them i needed my Optus number to be ported over and with 30 minutes I was connected.
OK. The porting isn't the issue. Just wondering if the $250 allowance of calls to Optus phones includes Exetel, Liveconnected or other mobile phone companies that utilise the Optus network.
Like what @greenpossum said, I think it's just a matter of making a test call and then check the usage. However, I have both Exetel Mobile and Amaysim — both Optus "Reseller", but neither are free to call Optus nor free called by other Optus mobile users.
I am on woolworths mobile. I can confirm the following:
- Can use optus money on calls to Optus, Woolworths, and Boost.
- Cannot use Optus money for calls to TPG and Liveconnected.
- Not sure about other companies using Optus network.
Source: mum on Optus, partner on woolworths, sister on boost; friends on TPG and Liveconnected.
Thanks. That's what I wanted to know. Oh well, maybe we will both go on Woolies.
One other question, can you get an itemized list of calls? For example, my partner makes a lot of calls for work that needs to be reimbursed.
Woolies half price offer ($12.60) no longer available - see the latest thread. Appears to have ended on 29 Feb!
Called my sister on iinet mobile- no go there either
so agree optus,woolies,boost only
just to clarify im with woolies mobile (she is with iinet mobile)
I believe Woolies Mobile is just a thin branding on Optus, as opposed to say Amaysim, which is a true MVNO. When you click on the Woolies Mobile usage link, you are taken to the Optus account pages. So the question becomes: Can you call those subscribers using Optus Money? If so, the same will be true for Woolies Mobile. But as they say, YMMV. Anyway it won't cost much to make a test call then check the usage meter.
Edit: Also you will hear a short spiel when you reach an Optus number: "This is an Optus to Optus call"
