found this while trawling for a good price - best australian price i could find was still over $200. i've used xe.com for the currency conversion (ie same rate as what my 28 degrees card would use).

i love the lego figurines that come with this set!!

there's lots of other lego available - but i've found that some (eg the x-wing fighter) can't be delivered to an australian address.

At the current exchange rate, it's currently about $144 shipped from Barnes and Noble:

Mein gott… I wish my kid was old enough for standard lego lol… soon!

    • same, just need to buy it 'for the future' lol

  • Cheaper on bricklink: http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?pg=1&q=7965&sz=25&search…, although postage can be expensive.

  • Handy to know amazon.de deliver to AU, a couple of sets I looked at over on amazon.co.uk where not available for delivery to AU.

      This is a useful guide

Plus fishpond in Oz seem to have good deals too. Just bought something at 60% off today though it has since gone up. :-(

      • thank you.

Fishpond are a total crap shot, prices change at random, they frequently list items in stock and then you get emails saying they are having problems with supply. Often takes months to get items or they just cancel orders.

If you're willing to take the risk then there are some good deals, but be ready for possible disappointment.

        • That's not good to hear.
I bought this Lego Basics for $23.83 today. http://www.fishpond.com.au/Toys/LEGO-Bricks-More-4635-Fun-wi…
Though it has since gone back up to $38.44 like it was yesterday (still cheaper than the shops). Pure fluke with the price as I was going to buy it anyway.

I've already received an email to say it's been sent so that's got to be a good sign. :-)

  • To be honest I haven't looked at the details in the link, but just check that you get ENGLISH instructions with your purchase, or Google to see if there is an online manual

I do not know how you get the price but by my calculations the price in $AUS is 178.83 (144 Euros (price plus delivery) converted by Oanda (official EU converter).
Please adjust the price in your post.

    • looks like it's gone up by $2 since this morning!

anyway, in my amazon basket, it's:

      Artikel: EUR 109,24
      Verpackung & Versand: EUR 14,00
      Gesamtbetrag: EUR 123,24

and that translates to A$153 using xe.com (and A$152 using oanda!). no idea why it's 144 euro for you. did they remove the sales tax?

  • No, they did not. Must have something to do with the account. Will open a new one. Thanks for the clarification.
