My venerable receiver just died so went looking for an easy replacement. Sounds like a decent soundbar for the price, comes with a wireless subwoofer. Cheaper than previous deals (except for very limited clearance stock) with FINALS code. Couldn't find any click and collect stock in metro Melbourne so went with delivery for an extra $10, still only $169.

Apparently there is an issue if you are going to input 4k video by HDMI through the soundbar then to the TV, but I'm just going to connect via optical so shouldn't be an issue.

  I'm not sure about the issue regarding the 4K video, but I'd still highly recommend using HDMI and utilizing the Audio Return Channel and the CEC features so you can control the volume using the TV remove. I believe you can still run the 4K video to the TV and then have another HDMI act as the ARC to the soundbar

    Yeah I did read a comment like that in the previous post but I wasn't confident that I could sum it up correctly! As long as I can set it up so it just plays the audio of whatever I'm watching or playing without any extra effort on my part that's good enough for me.

      I reckon you can get it set up - I believe in you! The optical route usually works without any hassle, I agree. But then you have to manually turn the soundbar on/off and change the volume using it's remote

        haha thanks. I think I'll be able get it set up, was more saying I wasn't sure i could sum up the HDMI/ARC/CEC thing.

  reviews look OK for the price. I am tempted, but had not so good experience with other JBL products in the past, so still thinking…
