    for Dummies from Dell

Thanks, OP. Can I use it if I am a Dummy from somewhere other than Dell? :)

  • 10 minute mail, you've done it again!

  • Good reference to have around

  • gotta love this at the bottom of each ppage:

"These materials are the copyright of John Wiley & Sons, Inc. and any
dissemination, distribution, or unauthorized use is strictly prohibited."

  • I've actually been doing a Diploma of I.T. focused on Networking for the last 3 weeks. This book doesn't look like a bad overview. We don't even have a textbook because by the time it's published it's probably a little outdated. We use online textbooks that get updated on the fly. But this is a pretty good overview.

I've actually completed a IT General Diploma and IT Networking Advanced Diploma and there is no way the online course is "on the fly" updated, how could they give tests if the text changes "on the fly"??

You would be doing the Cisco Discovery and it changes every year or so but not "on the fly"

The core of Networking does not change much at all though (relatively speaking), security does however have it's changes but nothing that is relevent for a home user, recommendations given 2,3 years ago would still be 99% accurate today unless your at an enterprise level
