I got an LG C1 yesterday which is amazing, but I also recently got a Sony record player. I don't have any external speakers yet but was wondering if anyone know of a way for me to use my TV as a speaker? The record player supports Bluetooth and I've output to a Bluetooth speaker before but no idea if I can use my TV's speakers
Can I Use My Smart LG TV as a Bluetooth Speaker?

Because my options if I want to use my record player are to connect it to a crappy Bluetooth speaker, OR connect to my TV to use its speakers, if I can figure out how
If your TV still has an AUX input, that might be an option too? look into the user manual what bluetooth options you have, all your answers will be there
I'm going to say no.
Happy to be proven wrong.
Only tv bluetooth capability, in general, is to output tv audio via bluetooth to paired speakers.
It works on my Samsung tv, but I have had TV's it does not.
See if this link assists : https://www.lg.com/us/support/connect-bluetooth-devices-guid…
I believe that just outputs tv audio to external bluetooth speakers. OP is trying to get the audio from a record player to the tv speakers.
ahhh ok, read it wrong :)
Edit: I just had a look on my CX, go to the Home screen and on the left there is an option for sound share. If your record player can pickup the TV in devices to pair it may work.
This actually worked, thanks so much!
Now I've found a new issue…my records play at weird speeds! I just had a record on that was noticeably slower than it's meant to be, so I tested a different record and that one was slightly faster! I'm at a loss.
Is there a switch in the record player?
I think I remember on dads, there was a slide switch, that maybe said 33 or 45.
Perhaps had something to do with the size of the album?
Not really my vintage
I'll assume you have a Sony model similar to PS-LX310BT. As Jetstream mentioned there should be a speed toggle switch for 33.5 & 45 RPM. There are other standardised speeds, it'll depend on your player on whether or not you can support them.
More info here on record speeds: https://hub.yamaha.com/audio/vinyl/heres-what-you-need-to-kn…That's exactly the model I have. It's not enough of a speed difference to need to be changed to 45 RPM (I tried), that sped it up too much. It is just extra bizarre that 1 record was too slow and another was too fast when both are 45 RPM records. I guessed it was possibly a Bluetooth issue? I don't have speakers to hardwire into the record player to test that…
Thanks for proving me wrong
My 2015 LG tv has RCA in and there's a power saving feature called … "Turn display off" but audio keeps coming through.
They removed the RCA combination port on the C1 :(
Wow what a turd!
They should remove the antenna socket while they're at it too.
What size and how much did you pay for the C1?
$3099 for a 65"
Using Bluetooth for a record player sounds a bit. …. Ironic?
You should have those big wind up brass petal playing things. Then it's analogue all the way!
Not sure why you'd want to. The built-in LG OLED speakers are… serviceable, but not great, and you'll leave your TV on just for audio.
I don't have any external speakers yet
Use your mobile as a speaker
Possibly, i know LG used to have the feature many years ago, but why would you want to? all the apps you could possibly use are on TV's these days, youtube, spotify and so on
