I'm bored… currently on night shift … literally staring at a screen managing a queue for a call centre. Nothing going on.
What do you do for work at this hour?

Scott Pilgrim : Well, Pac-man was originally called Puck-man. They changed it because… Not because Pac-man looks like a hockey puck. "Paku Paku" means "flap your mouth", and they were worried that people would change, scratch out the P turn it into an F, like…
Hahaha was kinda wondering what other people do for work on night shift (not ways to pass time) hahaha
What kind of call centres operate at 3AM? Would imagine emergency services wouldn't be bored. Banking?
Tech support 😉
lol no not tech support.
heaps of call centres operate at this time, DV line, Child Protection Helpline for example
Roadside assist
Not working per se but in the spirit of your question just reaching out to alleviate your boredom.
Listening to The Jezabels full tilt on bluetooth headphones sipping Woodford Reserve while wife sleeps.
Distracting myself from the madness of this stange new world I've found myself living in.
cookie clicker
Great, thanks, now I'm hooked. 😐
Love how the first place you go to is OZB. I can't sleep.
I am always on ozbargain. Life is a discount :D
I'm on night shift with my toddler. Currently he's rolling around in bed waiting for the nurofen to kick in (teething pain). Im guarding his door in case he exits his room - so he doesn't wake his brother
Noble night shift work there brother.
Respect.
I think he finally fell asleep. My turn now.
The kids are 2 years old now. I've been doing nightshift mostly exclusively since they were about .. 5 months old. I've had maybe … 20 nights where neither has woken in that whole time.
Wife helps out when I can't settle them back. Being twins they've been mostly formula fed as there wasn't enough … Juice available
I worked night shift for about 5 months 15 years ago, not something I'd want to do again.
Perhaps consider doing something productive with your night shift hours like taking up a course or starting a side business?
Don’t worry… UIPATH is coming… soon™
I don't think most RPA solution has any sort of AI/ML within them or anyone managed to cook up a process to handle voice input.
True, but this might not be the most efficient way to solve problems anyway — as an example, if I read out my address to someone over the phone, it takes forever. Typing my address is easy, and I know it’s correct.
Not so much anymore… but i use to stare out a window into the darkness at a never ending black void and dodge suicidal mammals throwing themselves at me while simultaneously contemplating why the hell i do this and why would anyone want to do this in the middle of the night and listening to the backstreet boys.
Fun times.
If you get bored of starting at a screen, there’s always truck driving. But no Ozbargain at work is a hard sell.
dodge suicidal mammals throwing themselves at me
Technically kangaroos are marsupials
This is why it pays to stay in school.
Well they are mammals also so you aren't wrong so you didn't miss anything at school.
You know they make software to do your job right? It amazes me there's still queue management jobs for CCs.
queue management is not my primary role, I am a TL. Most of it is automatic however our centre does more than just calls (processing work as well) which makes it tricky and automation doesn't always work.
Pac-Man ?
