Recommendations for Tangle Free Hair Brush

Google shows tons of options. I will be caring part time for a 6 year old girl shortly and one of the gripes she has is my inability to comb/brush her hair because some of it is in tangles. So I am after one of those magical brushes which can brush through her hair and remove the tangles without hurting. If the brush is really good I might get one for me long beard which no beard comb seems to be able to run through. I do have a fair few combs with differently spaced teeth and they dont serve the purpose. Happy to spend a bit of coin on something good.

Edit: Thanks for your replies guys. Ended up purchasing a tangle teezer wet brush and the thick and curly.

I've had great experiences with the Tangle Teezer and The Happy Hair Brush.

    • Do you think just the one for the wet hair should be fine to use with dry hair too (or vice versa)? Or do I really need to get one for wet hair and the other for dry?

Yep! Just get the wet one and it can be used on both wet and dry hair.

        • Thank you very much

    Tangle Teezer https://www.tangleteezer.com.au/

It's what everyone in the UK uses with tangles

    • Sorry, same question as to a previous reply. Do you think just the one for the wet hair should be fine to use with dry hair too (or vice versa)? Or do I really need to get one for wet hair and the other for dry?

Another vote for Tangle Teezer. Works really well that we got one for the long haired cat.

We got the Mason Pearson. I thought my wife was crazy spending this much money but it stopped the morning struggles!

You may already know this, but a couple of other tips:
    - start brushing from the bottom of the hair then once this tangle free, then the middle then, top. The strokes are still downwards, but work on ends first.
    - support the roots with your other hand whilst brushing out the ends, so it doesn't pull on her scalp
    - detangling spray if brushing from wet (just a little towards the ends)

My mum didn't know these things - I can still remember the sensation of having my hair brushed as a kid, hated it!

    • Thank you for this.

      • You're welcome - good luck with the little person :)
