Recommend Me a TV - Budget $1K - Maybe a Little More

I'm after recommendations for a TV.

Criteria:
- Bigger than 42"
- Smart functionality is optional (but doubt if there are many stupid TVs on the market anymore)
- Min Full HD, but prefer 4K if possible

I'm looking for best 'bang for buck'

    Go to value panel is sony x90, but that is still above in price. May pick up something decent second hand, but anything new is going to be garbage with that budget.

    Take a look from COSTCO may get a good deal.

    Best deal at the moment appears to be Sony x90j.

    Blows my budget out of the water but appears to be a solid performer.

    Is there any reason why is go the Sony over, say, a hisense for $800 less?
