  • I've been on spintel nbn50 since 05/20. Setup was fast and painless, speed is a promised. We pay 85.- for nbn50, landline and 2 mobiles (free local calls). I will stay for the time.

  • Been with Spintel for 5+ years now. No issues, a couple of dropouts, but no different to other ISP's..
I am only on 50/20 and constantly get 48-52Mbps.
Might ring them later to see if they can do this deal for existing customers. Wouldn't mind trying out 100Mbps.

    • Let me know if you're able to work out something with them. I tried webchat and they're not able to do a similar promotion to retain existing customer.

    • Good luck with them. I tried to contact them if they can do something as I am moving on, they said no.

  • why is there no referral system for this?

  • ppl doing local speedtests have no idea what a quality NBN provider is

  • Any idea when this promotion ends guys? My current bill ends in one month but don’t wanna set up a future date switch. WFH I cant afford a long internet down time during the day.

  • Spintel are quick to get there services fixed. Which is usually an NBN problem. Superloop slooow.

  • I'm currently paying Superloop $65 for the 25MBps speed. FTTC so I believe no change of modem or hardware is required with a churn?

How does Spintel compare to Belong and Tangerine?

    • You are correct.. I'm using the same Modem for all. Just need to update with new login details. In regard to the performance, everyone has a different opinion. But I am getting better performance than Tangerine. Never tried to Belong. M on 50/20 Plan, getting 51-52 download speed and 19 uploads, compared to Tangerine it was 46-47 Upload & 16-17 Download.

      • Lol I don't remember where I enter the login detail; I suppose I need to revisit my router settings. :)

I've just signed up to Tangerine on their $45/mth 25Mbps plan. One Big Switch gave me an additional $20 off on the first month so that's enough to push me.

  • For HFC, do they use pppoe or ipoe?

  • +1

Might want to add the 1% surcharge so it is comparable to other ISP, say Superloop. Effectively, if paid by CC,

    100/20 = $69.69
    50/20 = $54.54

  • I'm likely to sign up with SpinTel on Wed and am happy to enter someone's referral code when I sign up. Apparently you'll get $50. Go for it!

  • Found out that if you have want to generate a referral code, you'll need to go on chat and ask customer service to generate it for you. The new my account portal doesn't have referral option yet.

  • Can I have referral code? can you advise me if I can get special pricing with referral code + bonus?

    • you dont get anything from referral, so yes you can get special pricing.
person who refer you get 50, you get 0

  • anyone has a refferal code for NBN? PM please

  • Is there any downtime in switching providers and usually how long it takes to transfer services, specially from superloop ?

    • My experience is only few seconds downtime. Not even feeling it whilst watching Netflix. Only knows when got notification from Superloop that the switch has been completed

      • Thanks

  • Took the plunge last Monday and ported from AussieBB to SpinTel. From reading the comments here and on Whirlpool, I expected a 3 day transfer time but I lost connection 30mins after putting in the order, and was connected 2 hours later.

Being in WA, the latency is quite bad to WA as all traffic routes through Sydney, and speed tests are up to 5% lower than what I was getting with ABB. In saying that, the connection has been rock solid, and have felt no difference in a large household doing WFH calls and Netflix streaming.

For the price, I'm happy to stay the next 6 months for sure.

  • I've switched to another provider from Spintel recently because their service had too many outages, sometimes last for half or a whole day.

I switched on they very last day of the month and my service was up and running with my new provider on the same day. Spintel sent me notification of cancellation 1 day later (the very first day of next month) and charged me a full month of service which they wouldn't provide.

Trying to get my money back now (their billing team response to me after 2 weeks basically saying that they'd steal my money cause they said so in their terms)

    • Exactly the same thing happened to me. I put in a complaint, and a week later then sent an ambiguously worded email which I thought meant they were withdrawing the charges. Turns out that nope, they're still billing me a full $85 for the month of May even though I moved to another ISP in late April. Lodging a complaint with the Ombudsman, these guys are dodgy as hell.

      Avoid at all costs.

  • Can we nominate the churn date in the future, and specifically, on the weekend?

  • Can someone DM me their referral code please

  • 1st outage during weekend, NBN device kept trying to connect, chat not online until.

2nd outage an hour ago, NBN device fine, restarted router, then router and NBN device, didnt work. Reported on whatsapp, got fixed in about 15min with response "It was an issue on the server".

  • Spintel couldn’t even connect me for a full month. I cancelled after they failed to connect me for even a second. They charged me $59 for not having internet for a month. Absolutely useless support and now I’m going to lodge a TIO case.

Recommend people avoid this company. Been with many and never had so many issues.

  • Also agreeing with the rest of the comments and avoid Spintel at all costs. Constant ping spikes while gaming and web pages takes a few seconds to load. Recently switched over to Superloop and there is no lag or ping spikes.

  • good lucknwith support for spintel. i would pay little more to some other companies.

  • I am never ever going to use spintel ever again. Signed up for their black friday deal and have regretted ever since. Its been constant drop outs needing to reset my modem multiple times a day to get a connection. They dont have a right to be a telcom company. Avoid at all costs. You get what you pay for.
