Have one and agree with most of the of the above points.
The full indicator is always on which is a bit annoying, doesn't really matter though.
The brush is a bit of a pain to clean up but I just love the ridiculous suction power so overall I'm quite happy with it. I actually moved From Dyson to Miele and never going back.
You can buy bags from ebay for cheap so not an issue there.
I have one and I seem to recall the sales rep mentioning you check the full indicator with the head in the air, not while you are actively vacuuming.
The indicator comes on earlier with the cheaper bags, but yes they're only like $2 per vacuum. But seriously, who uses bags nowadays??
You're right, it doesn't matter or impact the suction but as i said, i was worried that if it died then i would have no warranty if it could be proved that i was running the unit while "full"
I'd never heard about the point below (check indicator while pointing the head in the air)?
I like bags, they tend to hold significantly more and less chance of dust getting everywhere when you empty it. I also find they tend to have greater suction than bagless machines.
I have the C3 cat & dog, love it. I had the same problem with the indicator - I used to just open the machine and check how full the bag was - until I learned that it's only meant to be done with the normal head on while lifted off the floor (it's in the manual, which I never read when I bought it, like all males).
I want the C&D too, following this thread for suggestions.
Also, sometimes Miele factory outlet have these, but in SA my experience is no stock, rarely answer the phone, and grumpy unhelpful Miele staff when you do get them. Probably would bother trying if you're in SA.
On the same boat. I recently tried an old miele that the in-laws had and was shocked at how good the suction was. We ran it on a rug that we'd previously cleaned with a cordless and honestly couldn't believe how much dust, hair and crap came out. We've just moved to a house with carpet and have a kitten who won't stop shedding, so reckon the C3 is the way to go. I've seen it previously for like 350-400 but don't know if I'll be so lucky.
Just set up a search here and wait until there's a special
Have this in place for the last year+, still waiting for a good price on ozb. Not sure we'll see it again…
I've got a lower model, with same motor but a different head and it's a fantastic vacuum. Suction is incredible and when I used my friends Dyson it felt like a toy compared to it.
That said get ready for every person who sees it to tell you that you should've bought a Dyson instead.
Thanks All!
I've had a Dyson and currently have the Xiaomi Dreame. I also have a Robovac but Border Collie hair is pretty constant and the other vacs aren't really touching the sides!
I've put an alert on thank you!
Anyone know if the cat & dog is worth the price increase from the regular? I feel like the regular comes down in price more frequently and given it's over $100 cheaper RRP, wondering if the cat and dog is that much better?
I think the main difference is C3 has more powerful motor (iirc it’s 1800W, my C1 is 900W) and the Cats and Dogs model comes with a turbo head specialised for hairs.
Also c3 is German made, c1 is Chinese.
Not correct, Compact C1 is made in China but Classic C1 is still made in Germany.
If you have access to The Good Guys Commercial website it's $492.
I had this one, and we ended up giving it back to JB and going with a Dyson. We don't have pets which would probably change things a bit
Good
- So much suction, it would literally lift the carpet off the floor. Absurd cleaning power
- Great build quality, it feels well made
Bad
- The bag was CONSTANTLY full. And they cost like $5ea. We were using a bag per vacuum of our carpet, especially with a toddler
- The bag is then linked to a little "full" indicator, which is just differential pressure i.e is the bag blocked or not? That thing was constantly on and showing as "Full". Although you could still go, i was worried that we would prematurely kill the motor and then we'd have no warranty claim because it would be our fault for ignoring the signal
- The turbo head brush was constantly getting clogged with hair, and it can't be removed from the head, so you end up having to snip the hair out. Compare to Dyson where you can just removed the entire brush, and somehow it rarely accumuates any hair
I don't know about the Miele Blizzard (bagless version)?
I'll point out that usually the "PET" version of vacuums is the same vacuum, but with a turbohead brush or some other different attachments. They're essentially the same vacuum itself
