I do ocean sports and my wife just got interested in a drone.
I also do wind sports (wing foiling . kite surfing) so the mini is out.

any deals on the flymore combo… ? Given she won't be doing a lot of flying. Should I just get the basic model without the fly more?

  Given she won't be doing much flying I'd say you're better off with the Mini 2. Amazingly good value for what it provides and still reasonably competent in moderate wind

  I actually read your description of use - yeah you're better off with an Air2S or even a secondhand Mavic 2 etc.

    that is amazing… there were new deals at that price for the air2 when it came out. Carona inflation is a real thing… the US recorded 8% inflation to august…. the highest in 11 years…. I am sure the graphics cards is much higher than 8%!

  I would get the fly more combo. You don't get much flight time out of a single battery, what little time you get slowly reduces the older the battery gets. The ND filters will be useful if you are using the drone over water on bright sunny days.

  I'd also recommend the DJI Care Refresh, even if you never need it, it's good to fly with the peace of mind that if you crash or lose it you know it can be replaced or fixed. I've needed to use it …twice.

    great advice… we take lots of footage over sunsets chasing kites and wing foils. WA water and sun super bright

  I would check first whether you're legally able to fly the drone where you intend.

  "You must not fly over or above people or in a populous area. This could include beaches, parks, events, or sport ovals where there is a game in progress."

      yeah, my friends keep telling me I am spoilt to have a wife that is happy to sit in 15 - 20 knots of wind with a heavy camera to take pictures …
