How Do You Store All Your Batteries? AA, AAA, 9V, Button, etc

I just picked up one of these Battery Daddy battery storage organisers on my way past the post shop today. Bought on a whim. I didn't know they existed. It wasn't until I got home and did some research and realised how popular and well reviewed it was.

After rounding up all my batteries which were lying all over the place in drawers, bottles and containers, I also realised how poorly I had been storing them all. Feeling a bit nerdy but I absolutely love this thing and the built in battery tester is brilliant. I was able to throw out (ie. take to Aldi) many that I didn't realise had lost their charge.

So it got me wondering what you use to store all your batteries?

Note, if interested, the Post Office said the special had ended yesterday and the price had gone back up to $39 but gave it to me for $29 anyway. Worth heading down and seeing if any left. Or check for similar ones on eBay

  • I'm pretty sure I would never need that many spare batteries.
I get it that you can buy in bulk to save money, but this is excessive for the small number of battery-powered things I have.

    • I agree. Something odd happened when I started having kids, and it wasn't just the drop in testosterone levels.

    • How is the quality on that particular case? I have bought a few cheap cases from ebay and aliexpress and the latches would often break with minimal effort.

I usually store my disposable batteries at Woolies and Coles. I'll go pick it up when I need it.

  • It really depends on what type of batteries you have. I've got a few 18650s and couple of 26650s and just have individual boxes for them and a large box for the AA and AAA eneloops and laddas.

      Same but without label.

  • I happened to buy one of those a month or so ago. Don't recommend them. The front that's always shown in the pics works well but the back is supposed to only take AA and AAA laying down except the section isn't deep enough so the batteries are applying force against the lid. Long term I expect it to crack and/or damage my valuable investment grade Eneloops.

    • Was it a Battery Daddy? I don't see how the back can take AAA without them being loose. Mine holds AA fine without pushing on the lid.

      • Yep, Battery Daddy. Maybe I just got a dodgy one.

  • I just buy the Varta battery 30 packs from Bunnings and leave the batteries in those…

  • Got rid of all Alkanies as early as possible, Now only Rechargable NiMH batteries, (in a plastic container in drawers)

  • In the desk or shelf draw. Don't really care as most of the A's are rechargeable and in devices.
Any other's such as buttons just sit in a plastic bag and/or floating around in a draw! Provides a fun, hide and go seek game when I need a new one… Sometimes the highlight of C-19 life… :)

  • I have a large tupperware container. All the packets of batteries go in that. I have another container that I put the used batteries in, which I take to Aldi for recycling when it gets full.

Snap lock bag for most of them stuffed in a cupboard. Button batteries in my toolbox stored securely out of reach of kiddies
