  The most important upgrade this has over the base model is the remote control. The heating in the other model seems good to me but you may want more granular settings.

  I use it everyday and have it as a permanent addition under my desk. I highly rate it. My only irritation is that sometimes socks can be noisy with it (sweaty/ some materials)

      There are so many models… mine is without the handle but pretty much identical apart from that. I am assuming the internals are all the same

  I find the range to be so confusing. With remotes there is:
  $190 black model
  $170 white model
  $180 white model
  $180 black model

  Can't see a clear distinction or model numbers to compare.

      There is one that seems to have a carry handle where control panel is (which is what OP linked to) but would be good to get some clarification. Keen to buy one.
