As per the Twitter posts here & here, one of Androids best music players is going on it's first ever sale. I've tinkered with the trial on many occasions and more recently I broke the first rule of any good OzBargainer and let my impatience get the best of me and purchased the full version. None the less, this app is definitely one of the best on my phone.

        Thanks for the suggestion. I use Google Listen for podcast and MortPlayer for audio book. They are both free and meet all my needs in these two categories.

    Not that impressed. It doesn't look like it can be used as a master equalizer so no good if you are using a music streaming service like rdio (me!). Bit old school :)

    Agreed this is a great player - it may take you a little of time to fully appreciate all the features of this player and work out how to do things but it's definitely worthwhile once you do. This isn't really a weakness as much as a sign of being chock full of features.

    One thing I don't like is the lack of play controls on the lock screen like Winamp Pro has (though if you download the free app Headset Droid you can control most popular players using your handsfree control). Navigating through screens isn't as intuitive or painless as Winamp Pro also in some instances.

    Having said that it is my default player and at this price is a no brainer.

    I enjoy the lockscreen, you can easily change songs by swiping the cover art left or right :)

    I paid full price for this and use it all the time! The only problem i've found is the default EQ is set to bass and treble on all my songs! How do I change that??

    Great app, worth the full price so this is definitely a bargain. Allows me to use my MetroFi 220vi headphones to skip track forwards and backwards on double/triple click. You can also configure a lock screen with the play pause and next track buttons on screen.

        SGS2 has a crap audio chip (C1-YMU823), PowerAmp's graphic equalizer helps alot, it's a must if you want to bring out the deep vocal qualities of singers like Nana Mouskouri and Burt Bacharach.

          This man speaks the truth.

          The SGS1 has the Wolfson WM8994 codec, a superior codec made by the people who had their chips in Apple products before their contract was cancelled. (Which is why you see an obvious move from iPods within the audiophile community.)

          I can't stand the quality of my SGS2 so I ended up buying a Sansa Clip+ which has a very similar codec/dac/amp to the SGS1.

      Go to Settings > Music Folders. Untick the box (it's default is all media on SD card I think), then select the folders you have with music and no videos.

    yeah. It's the best music player. I know you can adjust the volume by pressing the volume rocker on the phone, but I wish they could've made it easier to change volume rather than having first to press the volume button, then adjust the volume from there.

    got one, was on the trail version previously. Great sound quality tweaks, i use this with the voodoo sound app and the sound quality improvement is immense relative to stock. this app Would be even better if they incorporated wi-fi sync function - winamp pro has this feature

    Always found Poweramp to be the best music player on android but did not wish to pay $4.80 as google music would do the same job just without some minor extras like cutting of podcast names in folders. While alot of other players did have folder play or split podcast into their album names. Other also have problems with being frozen with ice cream sandwich.

    At less than $2 I more than happy to buy this to get rid of those annoying minor issues.

    Thanks for this. I would never have noticed it without Ozbargain.

    I had to chuckle at the marketing spiel for the sale. "We have received ratings that have constantly staid above the 4.5 mark". Spell check has a lot to answer for. (I hope it was spell check, and not that the developers of PowerAmp don't know the difference between staid and stayed.)

    I was contemplating for a while, but then decided to get it. One of the best purchases for my phone. These comments seem unusually positive, and that made me a bit skeptical. But after having used it, I cant recommend it more.

    Just the auto album art and cross fading of songs is worth the money. Love that it can edit the ID3 tags too. And the equalizer - made my music collection interesting again :)

    There was an additional fee ($2) on top of the Poweramp app fee when I checked on my bank transaction list.
    Is this $2 fee a merchant fee?

    Just if anyone lookin for alternatives, I found TTPod better than powerAMP and is free…originally got it as it downloads the lyrics and even synchronizes them, and can play them offline. Also has great widget, sleep timer, etc….check it out as an alternative and since PowerAMP sale over.
