There was a deal posted recently for the Quest 2 VR headset where you could purchase the 128GB model for the same price as the 64GB model which was $479 (I believe this deal is still on). For anyone that purchased this and would prefer to have a more comfortable and supportive strap, then this is the perfect opportunity to purchase it as it is currently on special on Amazon. You can also get free regular delivery. Pay with the Amazon egift card purchased through the ShopBack challenge currently on (whereby you buy a $30 Amazon egift card and get a $3 Amazon bonus egift card).     Just a heads up that these are notoriously poorly made. Whatever plastic they used is complete trash and will break after a few uses..

      They are aware of the problem and have addressed it. They have also provided an extended warranty of 2 years full replacement if it is to break or crack.

          Not at all. My son recently purchased the Quest 2 and found the strap it came with very uncomfortable, so he has just purchased this strap and found out all the info about it.

        They are aware of the problem and claimed to have fixed the manufacturing error. But it's evidently not true. The biggest Oculus Quest 2 thread on reddit had a rule until recently that they were removing too many broken headset posts as it was taking up too much of the Oculus Quest reddit community. They changed that and nearly every day someone is posting how the new headset broke, despite being a new batch, despite facebook claiming it's been fixed.

        They are and still are defective brittle cheap plastic garbage. Putting a longer warranty on defective garbage doesn't really solve the problem. It might not break now but give it time.

      A few uses might be a bit of an exaggeration. I haven’t had any issues with mine after a year of use. Might have got lucky though?

      I can confirm I bought my elite strap late last year and used it a handful of times before the arm snapped almost randomly. Turns out the initial release was defective (cheap plastic?) and oculus provided me with a brand new updated model free of charge. Haven't had any issues with the new one since.

      That's false. It was a problem that happened to a very small batch at the start.

    Probably look into the 3rd party alternatives as well, if you look around on Aliexpress or eBay you can find Halo style headstraps for half the price, and some are actually even better than the stock Oculus headstraps.

    I bought what I thought was a GOMVR headstrap but was actually a counterfeit from eBay, but it turns out that it's not all that different in terms of build quality and it works fine anyway.

    The item was shipped by a local seller and arrived in roughly a week, so there's a mix of sellers both local and international that stock cheap Oculus headstraps.

    Other upgrades you should consider is a generic silicone face cover (which prevents your sweat from wicking into the fabric, I paid only $10 for one) and some silicone grips for the controllers (about $14 USD from this seller) on Aliexpress.

    bought one from the deal, and 3d printed a back part for the headstrap.. it has made it so much better, but will get an aliexpress halo one.. official is to expensive for me

      It was in the challenge section of the Shopback app, if you scroll down you see "Get a Bonus Amazon Gift Card….", then you hit "START" (I had to scroll down about 7 other challenges before I saw it).
      I've just gone back into it myself and it is saying that 4,111 participated and 1,631 participants completed the challenge. So I'm assuming that there is still a chance to complete the challenge if you haven't already, but you must hit "START" beforehand. I've looked in the terms and conditions and it says that the promotion runs from Sep 2 - Sep 30 so it has not expired. If you don't see it in your Challenges, then it could possibly be targeted as it does say in the terms and conditions "Available to selected users only, and while redemptions last."
