Headphones for Movies (TV) and Music

Hello Folks

I'm looking for a pair of headphones that works well with Google TV (not dialogue dalay, dolby/atmos surround audio as well) and that is decent with music trough the phone.

So pretty much a 360 pair of headphones

I would prefer wireless.

I had a look on the Sennheiser pxc 500ll
Or Yamaha YH-E700A

I'm not sure if is the best fit

Budget $250-300 (flexible)

Thanks for your help

Sony WH-1000XM3 if you can still find them are now price range. I can say that are certainly worth the money

Agreed, or the Bose QC35s (either I or II) will do the trick.

  • Not as well known as Sony or Bose but have a look at Avantree. They have a range of BT5 and aptX LL capable headphones specifically made for TV viewing (base with analog/digital audio inputs and charging dock, etc). Voice quality may not be comparable to a WH-1000 or a QC but definitely not bad either.

If audio lag in TV viewing is a major concern then aptX needs to be supported at both receiver and transmitter in order to successfully eliminate lag however most TVs with built in bluetooth do not support aptX, pretty much making low latency headphones useless. Therefore try to pair it via a aptX supported transmitter or a base station for best results.

    • Thanks, very informative.

  • Per websterp above, transmitter and receiver both need LL (Low Latency).
Sony & Bose don't have that.
I have PXC550ii paired with an avantree BT transmitter and there is no lag.
These are my first pair of BT over ear ANC headphones so I can't make comparisons, but I am happy with them.
ANC is stronger than air pod pro and Plantronics BackBeat GO 410 in ears
