I am going to purchase a Toyota Corolla ZR, but would rather have a sedan instead of the hatchback. Does anyone know if Toyota are thinking about bringing out a hybrid version of the sedan.
Thankyou

Who really is the biggest Toyota dealer? Sci-fleet says they are. Then Servco say they are. Then along comes AP Eagers and say they are. lol.

Does that mean that some stealerships lie?
I find that hard to believe /s
Phil Gilbert are quite big
Servco
Only good at ripping off rich asians and whities from the NOrth SHore
may as well rip off those who can afford it
most salespeople will underquote delivery times to secure ackbace would never do that.
Spackbace would never do that.
I work for the largest Toyota dealership in the country.
As in:
I'm crossing fingers for Broken Hill, where it sits on 4,000 acres of land.
You forgot biggest liars.
Thank you, that is so helpful.
Toyota Corolla ZR
Why?
The base one will serve you fine. lol
You got one? I've got the ZR Hybrid and prefer everything about it over the base.
Driven the base sports hybrid and honestly, besides the leather seats, didn't notice any other difference. I preferred the 2.0 L petrol engine over the hybrid too.

meh…not worth the price. I'd look for a different brand at that price range.
Gosh who wants to spend $40k for a corolla. I'd be looking at a Golf and just a wildly better experience.
some people like it how hybrids zip from standstill in silence
some people just like a conventional petrol car
to me, if a hybrid is a small cost above a petrol then go for it?
eg. a camry is $30,000
the hybrid is $33,000
neither here nor there what you choose but $3,000 buys a lot of petrol

A Golf GTi zips. The corolla waddles along.
Yes, I own a corolla among several other cars that clog my front yard
@Orico: Wait… Did you just compare a GTi to a $40k Corolla? 😂
Is it school holidays?
If you know of someone selling 2021 GTi's for $40k let me know and I'll buy 5!
@spackbace: You might have to get one with 40k kms and 2-3 years old.
@Orico: But… You compared those 2.
May as well throw a 10yo BMW in the mix as well… Would make as much sense!
But… You compared those 2.
You don't make any sense. They're both hatchbacks around the same price. A Golf GTI is the better car even if it is 2-3 years old.
@Orico: Only a school kid compares new against 3yo to try to better their argument.
Though, that's an insult to the school kid to assume they'd clutch at such straws
@spackbace: Alright Toyota employee. Keep telling yourself the plastic mess that is a corolla is worth $38-40k.
@Orico: Yet your 3yo, $40k Golf doesn't even have leather…
Or a HUD
Or Adaptive Cruise Control
Or upgraded speakers
And costs far more to service
And is already out of warranty
But turbo engine, so yolo right? 😂
40k Golf doesn't even have leather…
Thank (profanity)! Do you know how uncomfortable it is in the sydney summer to have leather car seats without the aircon at full blast. hate Aircon and hate leather seats.
But turbo engine, so yolo right? 😂
Yes. Yes. And Yes.
Or a HUD
I have one from Ali Express
Or Adaptive Cruise Control
bruh….what am I a 60 year old woman? Never used the feature once when i had a BMW. I'm sure they offer it as an option to anyone with $$$
And costs far more to service
Dates costs more.
And is already out of warranty
These days I never have problems with age old Euro cars like the Golf.
@Orico: Just keep digging, digging, digging…
@Orico: Ahahaha. “Sydney summer”.
Come spend a summer in real Australia and then have a proper sook. Jesus Sydney people really think the world revolves around them!
@HelpMeiCantSee: I wouldn't be driving a hatchback in the 'real Australia'.
It gets to around 45-46 degrees here in western sydney with very high humidity, so please don't give me that macho 'real summer' bs.
@Orico: Haha.
I dont think things have changed that much since covid started.
Just cruised carsales and a base corolla hatch is $30k out the door if you can find stock.
That's a 4cyl 2.0 auto. I didnt dig much deeper but expect what to you normally go in a base car.
Close to $35k for any mid range and/or hybrid.
For a cooking grade corolla.
The ZR Hybrid would be about $38/$39k.
and that's without options
Doesn't need options, it comes with them all.
Yes.
Hi Mick,
I work for the largest Toyota dealership in the country.
There are absolutely zero plans for Toyota to release a ZR Hybrid Sedan in the near future and to be honest with you, the ZR sedan just looks and feels like a much more inferior car than its Hatchback counterpart. The only positive I can think of with the Sedan is the inclusion of a sunroof as well as the slightly larger rear-seat legroom, otherwise, 93% of our petrol customers believe that the Hatch is the way to go.
Lastly just a quick tip, please note that your Hatch/Sedan will most likely have to be a fresh build. Unfortunately, most salespeople will underquote delivery times to secure a sale, a fresh build will take 6-8 months, irregardless of what the salesperson tries to tell you. If you're quoted a delivery time of 4 or so months, either the salesperson is uneducated on the times it will take for the Corolla to arrive from allocation to build, or they're just straight-up lying.
Good Luck!
