These are the ones with the lower lid and without a temperature gauge…

Yeah, I wanna get the Q1200 or Q2200 but doesn't seem like I can get it anywhere but directly from Weber.

    • Sadly, yep. I really want the ones from the Weber store, but they are rarely, if ever, on sale :(

      • +7

Just bite the bullet and pay that little bit extra…

Look at the price difference and spread it over how much use you'll get out of it…

Ooh wow, jv being serious. I guess BBQ's are no joking manner?

          • @bboT: Haha yes looks like jv getting serious

Having said that, I agreed with jv's view
Consider to get x200 version, more room for roast and temperature gauge, it helps!
You can get from weber specialist store.

@11CENTS: Have had my Q2200 for almost 7 years. Replaced the battery in the starter once. That's it - everything else is as bought. The bigger dome lid and temp gauge are super handy. Well worth paying the premium for the lid, gauge and the electric igniter.

    • +1

Have this model and not having a gauge is a bit of a pain. However, if you smoke meat or want to roast it in one of these, you should get some digital thermometers to regulate the internal temp. You can set up one of the thermometers up to show the bbq temp too.

      • +1

Agreed - now that I've started doing roasts I don't use the themometer in the lid but a wireless thermometer where one of the probes is showing bbq temp.

        • +1

The extra room under the lid is useful though if you are roasting…

          • @jv: I always get roasted..

These are the most expensive item available on the Nandos points rewards store, I'm trying to eat enough Nandos that I get one for free. Its hard work, but I'm getting there.

    • +7

I can help if you pay for the food, out of the good of my heart

    • -2

Cheaper and easier to keep getting Nando's than to go down the path of cooking your own with this thing…..

  • They also have a bonus gift card promo for selected Webers

  • Some of the accessories are the cheapest I've seen. I've picked up the Pizza Stone and Roasting Pack.

  • +2

Discounts are on their eBay page too, so free shipping if you have Plus (And can use your $5 coupon if you still have it)

  • Cheers OP. Bought the half hotplate for the baby Q.

  • Good place to use my 10% off Ultimate Gift Cards that I got from Coles. Now if I can only find the actual gift cards :(

  • should I splash out using my $100 bonus from the breville coffee machine purchase?

  • I'm looking for a kettle BBQ but none in this sale :-(

    • about 10 years ago I bought one off gumtree for $70, still going strong!

      • There doesn't ever seem to be many on Gumtree, mostly the gas BBQ's.

Accessories are same price/slightly cheaper on TGG Commercial if you have access. Not everything seems to be available though (on the commercial website that is).

Might pick up a roasting pack for the Family Q I picked up a recently (got lucky and the local TGG store priced the display model for $390 thinking it was a standard Weber Q).

  • My first BBQ - what accessories do you guys recommend I pick up as well?

    • +2

The roasting tray / trivet pack is excellent for cooking a roast on.

But being your first BBQ, perhaps a pair of tongs and one of those flippy things to turn the steaks over with (but only once per steak, please)

The Roasting Pack is a no brainer - Super useful, mine gets a workout more often than cooking on the grills!

    • I bought the Cleaning brush when I bought my Weber years ago. So glad I did. Previously had a cheap cleaning brush on my last BBQ.
The weber one has lasted years, and cleans really well. The bristles are all still in good shape after all these years.

  • Does weber store do any pricematch? Like to use the gift card.

    • I don't think so, also not the same model from weber store.

  • I've got a weber kettle, is there a specific tool to lift the grill if you want to add more charcoal or move it around?

  • Extra 5% off with gift cards from Suncorp rewards

  • +1

Thanks OP. Got the Weber Q plus roasting pack, half hotplate, cover and thermometer. No click & collect near me so had to pay for delivery. Extra 5% off with gift card from Suncorp rewards.
