Bought it last sale - super cool gameplay. I love using the vacuums!

  • +6

Even at RRP this game is a deal!

  • +3

It's been fantastic to play with my partner through lockdown, she's a lot better on the joysticks now!

    • +8

This is literally the first game my mrs has played on a playstation controller so she's still at the stage of remembering what button is what. I love that there is absolutely no punishment for dying over and over (though the first boss took a few goes).

      • +1

Agreed. The 'game over' system is pretty outdated, might as well just keep instant respawning after a death. Its more fun to break down walls by smashing your head against it over and over than going around HA!

        • If there's no punishment for death then there's no point of health in games. Also no challenge.

  • +1

Bought it for the XSX recently and can't recommend it enough. Absolutely great game to play with a partner/friend. Haven't had such a good co-op experience since Portal 2!

  • Really looking to pick up a physical copy of this on sale. Missed the last Amazon deal.

    • +1

      You can try OzGame

  • +3

Thanks to the last sale, I almost got a divorce fighting the Queen Bee. My wife is very new to joystick and we managed to get to this part, but no further. We should be able to get past with lots more patience.

    • +1

You have to keep going around the rail and sticking the lava stuff on the Queen bee robot at the back if you Cody and then if she is May she can go around and shoot it to get the Queen Bee's health down a lot quicker. Of course you still have to try and defend those swarms of bees at the same time. My Mrs and I were stuck on this one for ages too and she can't shoot for s***. I was sticking the lava stuff on the bees and queen and she would keep missing her shots lol. So frustrating!

  • +1

Awesome couch co-op game with your partner.

  • +2

This game, at any price, gets my upvote.

  • can you play this one one console (as in two ppl playing on two controllers)? or can it be played online as well (without PS plus membership) ?

    • +2

Yes, can play it on one console with two controllers. Can also play it online without PS+ through the screen share feature.

      • thanks

just watched this video : https://youtu.be/QJKfc-Caku0?t=145

says we both have to be PS plus members … bummer

        • +1

if this is with your partner, you can share PS+ by making each other's consoles your primary console. This is what my partner and I do for PS+ and all games.

        • That's unfortunate, I assumed it was just the host that required PS+. I have had a quick look too and seems it's still the case that both sides of the share play session require PS+. Sorry for the misinformation earlier.

  • +4

This game is simply awesome, fantastic and ever-changing gameplay (like seriously, how many games in one is this game??), and really nice visuals. True sense of accomplishment from a lot of gameplay too. 10/10 would pay full price again to play it for the first time.

  • +4

Going to give this a crack with the wife tonight. Cheers OP!

  • +4

Hmm might give it a go on the off chance that my wife will play it. Will probably be less marriage-destroying than Overcooked, at least :P

    • +1

We got overcooked before this too. Gotta say, It Takes Two is a way more fun and relationship building game!

    • +2

I laughed at even the thought of trying to play Overcooked with my other half. Na-ah no thankyou nope no way.

  • Great game with the partner - we're having lots of fun. Will be sad when the campaign's over, probably time to switch to PS5.

  • +1

yeah this is more of a couples game :D

  • -1

Anyone know a good price for Xbox (digital)?

  • +1

Hands down one of the best games I've ever played. From gameplay, to visualisation, to storyline. Worth RRP.

However, as others have said, it's quite a forgiving game so perfect for couples (with one part of that couple not being a seasoned gamer..). It might be a bit too easy if both are experienced.

  • +1

Just went and had a look on the PS Store. It's showing as $44.96, as per this post. But I thought you were supposed to get 10% off digital purchases of EA games if you're an EA Play subscriber? I bought a 1 month EA Play sub yesterday, so I would have expect this to have an addition $4.50-ish taken off it since it's an EA game, but that doesn't seem to be the case here?

    • Might be something to do with the confusing EA Play / EA Pro setup

      • Really? I was under the understanding that there were more games on the more expensive version (although I think that might just be for PC? I didn't see the option for it on the PS store). But I thought the 10% discount was across the board.

  • -1

    cheaper to get physically

  • +1

One of the best games I’ve ever played.

  • Any appreciable difference playing the PS5 version? Haven't picked up a second Dualsense controller yet but still have a couple of DS4s.

    • +2

      quick write up

1080p60fps vs 4k60fps that's it. It makes no use of any ps5 features at all but its a free upgrade anyways so… another thing is you can use DS4 controller if you play the PS4version incase you didnt want to buy another DS controller.

      • +1

Thanks! I know I'll grab another dualsense controller eventually but if it used the triggers or rumble in a good way it might've been the shove I needed.

  • $39.99 on the Steam store…
As someone that has a PS5 and a gaming PC, Steam always seems to win on pricing. Even though some games I'd rather play on the couch with a controller. This is why I've built a couch PC and my PS5 collects dust…

    • +1

My PS5 and Switch have always been a exclusive machine and my PC is for main gaming. I do feel kinda bad though bc its collecting dust when there are people who cant get it actually would use it to its fullest potential.

***Got it as a bday gift tho.

      It's actually $49.99 though.

      • +2

        My feelings exactly. Well said!

        It's actually $49.99 though.

Oh shit! I forgot my Steam account is still stuck in USD cause I did a little trick to reserve a Steam Deck…. Whoops!
In that case, I'm going to get this on PS5 then!

      • -1

Anyone who is searching day and night for a ps5 should just cool their jets, basically nothing worth playing at this point except ps4 games with a ps5 patch.

    • yea.. its cause sony is greedy that way. but there are alternatives to get this game as cheap as steam or even cheaper!

i recommend looking out for cashrewards "Get $5 for $30 spend" promos. this includes giftcards. for e.g. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/643987. it happens quite often. Buy the PS store giftcard at 3% cash back.

      if my maths is right..
      1) $30 giftcard + $15 CC = Nett purchase price = $39.10
      2) $50 giftcard = nett purchase price = $38.46 with $5.04 PS credit to go.

and i prefer it on a console, the game mechanics works way much better using the controllers. and also the friends and community on it too. not to mention playing it on a bigger screen!

    • I use an Nvidia shield and stream 4k60 from my 3080 equipped PC to my TV over gigabit ethernet, feels the PC is connected to the TV by HDMI

      • I've been trying to get this to work for me for awhile now. I have an Nvidia Shield and a 3080 all connected to gigabit ethernet. I'm extremely sensitive to input and display lag so it just never feels "right" even when I have it down on the lowest settings possible.

        • Try moonlight! waaaay better than the native app. Set 4k60 and max the connection slider to 150mb/s, my controllers are also directly connected to the PC, not the shield itself.

  • +4

Amazing co-op game, I would happily pay full price on their next game to support the devs.
    SPOILER
    SPOILER
    SPOILER
just a mild spoiler, anyone else feel like the last area/mechanic was extremely underwhelming? I feel like the rest of the game was epic up until the last level.

    • +1

I didn't read your spoiler, but thank you for being good enough to mention spoilers, lot of people don't.

  • +1

In one of the previous threads, someone asked about using a KB + mouse, which didn't really get answered, so hoping someone here can help?

My gf is basically a non-gamer, so I was wondering if we can both suck (and yet still have a good time), rather than have to drop $90 on a second controller that will basically collect dust after completing this..

I'm basically thinking that she can use the PS5 controller and I can be handicapped by trying to use the KB + mouse.. will that work or just be a massive pain?

    • +1

The game has autoaim and unlimited deaths - it really doesn't matter.

  • -1

I hear this game is quite good.
    I am very tight.
I will be patient and wait for $30.

I like buying used discs on Ebay, flawless always, work great, my average game price the past 10 years for PS3, PS4, PS5 would be no more than say $30, probably more like $25.

    • I don't think this game is widely sold. Likely less copies on ebay and such. You can get a physical overseas copy from Amazon etc for $50-60

      • Digital will drop eventually to $30 too.

  • Does anyone know if you play this on the ps5 with a second ps4 controller? I don't have two ps5 controllers yet :/

    • +1

If you play the PS4 version. Capped at 1080p60fps instead of 4k60fps (if you don't care then its fine).

If you play the PS5 version you cannot use the DS4 controller.

  • Anyone know how long the friend's pass lasts? Or can I complete the whole game with a friend on it?

    • +1

I believe according to the cover, you can play the entire game together

      • Cheers

  • Does it support cross play?

  • +1

great game! saved my relationship! my wife and her boyfriend play this and leave me to play bannerlord 2.
