What is the difference between Bose QuietComfort® 45 headphones and Bose Headphones 700?

While both provide world-class noise cancelling, high-quality audio performance and a comfortable fit, there are a few key differences. QuietComfort® 45 headphones have two modes of noise cancellation—Quiet Mode and Aware Mode. Bose Headphones 700 offer more customisation, with 11 levels of noise cancelling. Bose Headphones 700 also offer the convenience of capacitive touch controls and hands-free access to Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and your phone’s native voice assistant, like Siri. For battery life, you’ll enjoy 24 hours with QuietComfort® 45 headphones and up to 20 hours with Bose Headphones 700.

  • I'll be happy to see the QC35s come down in price in a while, they're still be really good headphones, just cheaper.

      Agreed. I've been using the QC35ii for a few years and it been great (just replaced the earpads recently too). The only minor issue I have with it, is that I wished it used USB-C, instead of Micro.

      • Yeah, that's one of the only gripes I had with them. Still great though, prefer them over the Sony counterparts (the WH1000 series)

        • I tried my brother's XM2/XM3 and they didn't feel comfortable for me.

      • You can use this

      • Where did you buy the replacement ear pads?

        • I got a generic one from Amazon AU for ~$10, can be found cheaper on eBay

  • I will wait for the QC65s

  • Skimmed through the page but couldn't spot any major differences to the QC35 and 35 II.
    Have they even changed anything?

      As far as I can tell:

      • Bluetooth: 4.1 -> 5.1
      • Charging Port: MicroUSB -> USB-C
      • Battery Life: Up to 20 Hours -> 24 Hours
      • Cheers but wow, that really isn't much different then. The 35 II added a voice assistant at least.
        This should've been called the 35 III.

  • I ditched my QC35 because they performed horribly for voice calls in a noisy environment. In a noisy cafe with lots of people talking the other person on the call could hardly hear me. Yeah, it has not been a big problem for those of us in Victoria over the last year, but still… 😅

    The NC700 improved a lot in this regard, and it looks like the QC45 may be similarly improved.

    I see no reason to move from the NC700 to the QC45 though… any benefits for doing so?

    Can't say how but have had a play with the QC45s - loved them.

    They were the first ever noise cancelling headphones I've tried so not much to compare with. I was so impressed I bought some QC35 IIs during the sale.

    I don't feel they're as good as the QC45s. Not as comfortable (although still comfortable) and the BT range isn't as good. I also don't feel the noise cancelling is as good! Annoyed at myself for not holding out for when the QC45s were publicly released, thought it'd be ages away.

  • Lazy design.

    • Why change perfection?

  • wonder how these stack up against the XM4's

    • I found that compared to the XM3s, the QC35IIs didn't have as many features. There were more settings you could tweak around with in the Sony app, a whole lot more than the Bose app. I'm not sure if the Bose app has improved since then (Feb 2020), and if the QC45s will bring more features.
      I also found the QC35IIs to be more comfortable than the XM3s, not sure if the XM4s improved on comfortability.

      • The Bose Connect app is pretty much useless. The only thing it is useful for is changing the ANC settings and switching between devices. No EQ settings or anything.

    I ditched Bose, AirPods max work way better with my apple gear.
