do you experience any CPU bottleneck?
I'm normally aiming for 4K resolution at as close to 60fps as i can get with my aging 1080, so it tends to not matter a whole lot then, the 2600K is still great for that, if i was aiming at high refresh rates it would absolutely be bottlenecking my 1080.
I have i5-2400 + 1060 3GB + 16 GB RAM. Recently, I tried BF V at 1080p, and I found that CPU usage is 90-100% while GPU is 65-80% most of the time. When, it happens framerate drops below 60. I am not sure whether this is CPU bottlenecking or some other issue. 1060 3GB is well less powerful than 1080 and I am wondering what is the issue here.
@bazingaa: I believe that's normal behaviour for Battlefield 5, some games will just use up every bit of CPU resource available to them, even with a much more powerful CPU. In saying that though, a 4-core 2400 with no hyperthreading from 2011 is going to struggle running BF5 smoothly, especially in multiplayer.

Wanted to upgrade to an Nvidia 3080Ti FE but can't get one under $2700 atm - so 1080Ti for the time being.
System originally had 4x 1080Tis as I was intending to learn AI / ML but went to upgrade to RTX 30 series on launch only to get stuck in the GPU wait.
I wondered why you had a 1600w PSU until I read the 4x 1080 comment.
Lol… Microwave pc
Was quite the squeeze with that case and the GPUs + U.2 SSDs.
Initially I had to cut back to 3 GPUs as the 4th fouled on the U.2 SSDs, should have put the spare in missus' PC (5930K w/ X99WS USB 3.1 mobo + 64GB RAM and EVGA P2 1600w) but between a few poor choices (offloading most of the GPUs before the RTX 30 release), I now have plenty of juice to power the lone 1080Ti.
Once GPU stocks return to normal, I can essentially finish the setups and return to the various projects those workstations were built to handle.
lol. yeah. I was playing around with AI image and video enhancement, and had bought a few python AI and Machine Learning courses to start, but held off until RTX 30 series so I could take advantage of the RTX cores… biggest mistake.
Lately I've just been working from home on it, and gaming in Elite and some rally games.
Didn't realise there'd be such a constrained supply of RTX 30 series, otherwise I'd have kept all the 1080Ti's so missus and daughter had their PCs up and running too. Buuuut.. in the pinch with Covid lockdowns and the like, we have Xbox One X and 1 working gaming PC, so it's not all bad.
That fine line between having cash on hand to buy replacement GPUs, or fork out first, then sell the older one.
Yeah I didn't realise at the time what a lottery I had gotten myself into when I sold my 2070s a couple of days before the 3000 range launched. I was very lucky to grab one in that first week at rrp.
@[Deactivated]: Originally hoped to get a 3080 FE, but then found out the MWave lottery was the first and last time we got to sample the FE cards.
Eyeing off a 3080Ti FE but with rumours of the RTX 40 series coming out around this time next year, I think I'll just persist with what I've got until then (daughter can use Xbox and missus my small shuttle 7600T).
Gives me around 12mths to go through all the Free (and paid) Udemy and other AI/ML courses I have accumulated.
Have an autonomous car kit and some other projects to learn with (including Nvidia Omniverse) so that'll keep me busy at least… it's just unfortunate that some things don't run without RTX.
