How to Track Gift Cards When Purchased Items Were Refunded

Hi all

I always use ebay gift cards purchased with some discount to pay for my items. When some of them were returned and refunded I am not sure which gift cards were refunded.

I had a chat with ebay they asked me if I remember the giftcard balance when they were paid, who can remember those frictions..

So I did a search on all my gift cards, which was time consuming enough, and found all of them have zero balance.

Am I missing something here? I know amazon consolidate all gift cards as a single account balance. but ebay doesn't have that.

    check the dates of the purchases and ask to see the payment history on each card. When you go to buy a new item it should list any cards with a balance.

      nope we can only check the balance that's it

        I think catch is the same and I have problems there because I have lost the emails for cards I bought at paypal difgtal gifts. My only hope is to write to paypal and ask for copies of their emails. Did you try ebay.com.au/ebaygiftcard

    you will have to buy a small item and on the payment page it should show where the refund went , it shows any cards with balance. If there is none then you have not been refunded

    i've given up and just trust their systems at this point.
    any refunds get automatically sent to the original gc and is 'available' during checkout

    eBay is hopeless in this regard. The item that refunded 2 months ago never shown up in balance. contacted eBay they couldn't locate the original gift card. asked me to wait for investigation but never got one.

    I will not buy any ebay gift card for 3% discount anymore
