Find Me a Tool Chest - Budget $500

I'm after a good deal (max $500) on a tool chest. Drawers preferred over a cabinet as it will be mostly hand tools, paper and art supplies. The biggest tool I'll be storing would be a sander or a cordless drill.

Would like a trolley + top toolbox combo.

Any good father's days specials out there anyone has seen? Or should I just grab the cheapest one off Kogan or Amazon?

Bonus points if I can click and collect from a local store.

Cheers

Sure what is your budget? Do you want a 5k Snapon roll cab? Or a $500 kincrome?

    • Sorry, have updated. On sale/discount/cheaper.

      • A while back I was at Bunnings and they where clearing some roll cabs out, a kincrome was like
$280 and it's usually around $500. Any ways if your not in a rush and can wait it might be worth checking out Bunnings every so often. It's probably an item that is best bough in person, go and slide the draws arounds and see how it feels make sure it's sturdy. Also sander and drill won't in the draws so you need a bottom with a cabinet.

  • Super cheap auto, wait for a something percent off sale and get a ToolPro Neon

    • Are these worth the price? I'm not a fan of the colours as I'd prefer simple black.

      • I have 2 of them. One at home and one at work. Yeah, I don’t go much on the “neon” bullshit either, but I choose options over aesthetics. I don’t care what something is coloured if it does exactly what I want it to do.

The best thing to do it to actually go down to SCA, Repco, Autobanh, Sydney Tools, Bunnings, etc etc, and have a look at what is on offer. Only you will know what you are looking for. And sometimes it’s a bit deceptive buying online and when you go to pick it up, it’s shit quality or way bigger/smaller than you require.

        • Yeah seeing heaps of cheapos online that look amazing, but surely are just rubbish. I'd rather pay a bit more for quality and longevity of use.

Looks like this will be a post lockdown purchase then.

  • I got the "HRD" tool chest from total tools. The one online for $249. Paid $99. I think when I looked, they were priced high online, but had "display stock" on sale in store. I have no issues with it.

    Fine Me a Tool Chest

Ok. You have been a naughty boy. I fine you $500.

What is your preferred payment method?

    • Payment by tool chest, can't you read?!

    • Omg I am such a dingus. Updated the title.

To be fair I'm off sick today and can barely think.

Wait for a Repco sale or use Autoclub discounts when it is on offer.

I got this for $384 using RACV member discounts

    • Can I ask how you got the price that low? Currently showing as $419.25 after autoclub mbrship

      • The word is "currently". They usually offer double or extra club membership discounts on certain weekends and I jumped in on one of those. The membership number wasn't even mine and they don't bother validating. If you are not in a hurry just wait and see. Perhaps there would be good deals coming up for black friday soon. That chest is quite large and spacious and well worth the discounted price.
