    hey Una the marketing.
can you explain to us the logic behind "bone conducting tech" ?
if the sound is travelling through our bone, why person sit next to me can hear when i wear this product?
(not leaks so much but STILL there is a leak)

so is this basically a mini speaker headphone or ….?

The headphones have to vibrate themselves to make your bone vibrate so you can hear the music/sound. The headphone vibration however also causes the air to vibrate (like a speaker), which makes it audible by someone listening close to the headphones.

ok thanks. i was expecting touching my bone so only me can hear tech.

TLDR: Need to be able to hear your surroundings (like jogging, driving etc) or consuming in quiet surroundings - bone conduction. Want an 'isolating' personal audio enviroment - get 'normal' headphones.

I have a a pair. Bone conduction headphones are awesome, you get to listen to media and your ears are still 'open' to your surroundings. My use-case was to be able to wear high dB reduction earplug hearing protection, in a very noisy environment, still listen to music and also to be able to have an IRL conversation without having to remove any of them.

Ill try and describe the sensation of wearing them; e.g. you are sitting on the couch listening to music while wearing these and someone else next to you: from your perspective, its no different than having being in a room with a radio playing. From the other persons, they are just chatting with you in a quiet room. What would be a normal conversational volume level is BARELY audible (not legible) to others, in a silent room, from 5cm away.

If your use-case is to consume media in bed and not disturb the person next to you. These are perfect.

note Because they don't isolate your ears hearing at all, I would NOT recommend bone conduction headphones for use in moderate+ background noise levels. Its like trying to hear a conversation in a noisy cafe.

          • @Pred8r: You totally missing my point. I like to be able to hear surroundings thats why im interested in bone thing because it doesnt block ear. What i asked was, because it touches my bone, why other people can hear?
I highly recommend plantronics backbeat fit. I have this.
