Popular deal / product is back, not the all time lowest which was $12.47 from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/625432 but still pretty popular at the $23 price point from deals like https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/617830

Looks like the AUG21 code is still going until the 31st for people who are making their first purchase over $39 through the Amazon App.

Recommend looking at the comments in the last deals to see why people like this so much, but basically it produces smooth mashed potato which has a great texture.

There's loads of other Joseph Joseph items on sale, there tends to always be sales on their products probably bringing them more in line where the RRP should be.

Helix Juicer Citrus Juicer ($20.00 down from $39.95), this has been $14 recently but we needed one now and it looked decent:

Stretch, Expandable Silicone Trivet ($24.93 down from $34.95) works great on our Ceasarstone benchtops to protect them from hot dishes

Enjoy.

  • Thanks! Got one…delivery time 1 month! Whats the deal with that?!

  • MMmmmm,, worth reading reviews.. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01N7MJB0C

    • You are definitely right, they appear to have garlic, citrus and potato press all as one product so the reviews appear as one.
The garlic press definitely has a problem as I'm onto my second. You can't overload it or it will snap the plastic, potato press is a lot harder to overload and I don't really see it breaking.
They are great devices but you just have to be careful. Had my 2nd garlic press for almost a year and no issues so far. Potato press for same amount of time and no issues.

  • Peter's of Kensington is having the same sale with items in stock.

As nice as Joseph Joseph products are, many recent Australian reviews comment on tabs breaking on their device.

Can anyone comment on issues with theirs or how to claim warranty when purchasing - through Amazon or JJ direct?

    Edit

I'll answer the second part of my question - one year when purchasing from authorised reseller but claim direct:

      The tabs broke on mine.

I think I bought it from PoK. If it were from amazon, I would have instareturned.

        Hi Dan…

        • If dutton created an ozbargain account maybe you wouldn't get so many negs?

    • But…..but….I'm hungry and Irish

My grater does the same job

  • dang sold out again, keep missing these

  • Mashed potato. Hmm, suffered all through childhood with this bland dish. Even worse was boiled potato. There are much better things you can do with a potato.

    • Yeah like hash browns…which this thing does an amazing job of making

I’m sorry your parents were too poor for butter, salt and cream. That must have been tough.

  • Any recommendations on a garlic press that is bulletproof?

Also is a potato ricer really a game changer? I've been mashing it with a spatula… :|

  • coincidentally, I only recently watched a youtube vid of a potato ricer being used for homemade gnocchi. i was under the impression it makes the potato more 'fluffy'? instead of 'hammered' compressed mash … at $13 bucks on previous deal I may have been willing to pay to find out, lol

  • Mine snapped within about a month. Don't bother.

  • Used mine for about a year.
The movement is definitely more natural than the up and down motion of other ricers. So far it has been reasonable and never felt like it was going to break. That said, I wouldn't recommend it. I am constantly cleaning out the inside between presses and dealing with the skins is never easy. If any potato gets caught in the tracks you can have a really hard time with it. The basket size is pretty small as well, can really only do one to two potatoes at a time (depending on size), and there is only one size option (no additional plates), and unfortunately that size still leaves very small lumps.
It's passable, but far from great. Good price to try it out if you're curious or… use a food processor or immersion blender.

  • Mine is still going strong 4 months later with regular use. Mash has never been fluffier and helps make delicious crispy hash browns.
