Anyone Bought from WinePeople.com.au/Laithwaite's?

My mum got a pamphlet with her senior's card in the mail recently, with an offer for 12 bottles of wine (and another 2 bottles and 2 glasses as "free gifts") for $135 - "saving $100" apparently. It's pretty much the same offer on their website - https://www.winepeople.com.au/ except over there it says 12 bottles for $120 - save $135. Free delivery included too.

Are they legit? Or are they just all super cheap bottles worth <$10 each.

The last bit. These "heavily reduced" offers have been around for over a decade to clear stock and get you signed up to spam you to buy more and more. You get them in random online deliveries too, even Amazon boxes.

    same as naked wines

some are ok, some are TERRIBLE

good price but. if you just want to get drunk buy goon

Aldi on the other hand has great wines at great prices

    • haha it's for my parents, they just thought it was cheap and maybe worth it. Definitely not for getting drunk.

  • I buy thru velocity wine store by laithwaites, the wine normally costs around $220 for 12 and the quality has been really good, I don’t buy the mixed dozens, instead the dozens with 8000-10000 bonus velocity points. I research them on Vivino before buying.

    • as with stewardo , i purchase through the velocity store.

I recommended buying the more premium selection as you do get better wines.

Customer service is pretty good, was quick and relatively easy to fix an issue where i didn't receive a wine and bundled offer

    "saving $100" apparently.

If I sell something for $500 and say the RRP is $1000, I can say you're "saving $500!!!". You're not saving $100, they expect to sell them at this price and that's to make you feel like you're getting a good deal.

The wines will be pretty average. Better off getting bottles from DM or BWS.
