Yum, camping memories as a kid revisited..

edit: upon checking this price is RRP same as Colesworth, S+S makes it cheaper though.

    • Are you meant to heat it up or eat it cold? :)

      • +1

You can do either way. I always just ate it cold.

It's yum chilled, warm or warmed up.
I enjoy it most with some fresh or drained tinned fruit, though warmed with a very light dusting of cinnamon is a great dessert on a cool evening.

Pretty sure the Aldi rice cream is significantly cheaper.

    • And very nice!

      • I think it's like 99c but couldn't find it on their site. I am a big fan.

        • Yep 99cents is correct (assuming there is no regional differences)

        • Aldi one is great! So is there fresh ones in the fridge section

        • Is it the same size as the one from Amazon?

    • Is it in a can or in chilled tubs?

      • Can.

  • How similar is this to rice pudding or is it different? Is it the same as this? I buy this from Aldi and I reckon it is on par with how my Greek mum makes hers.

      pretty sure it's same/same

      • doubt the tinned stuff is anywhere near as good

    • Rice cream is more liquid. Pudding is much thicker.

    • the aldi one is refrigerated/fresh, this one is in a can so doesn't need to be stored in fridge

  • Seems yummy.

  • Love this

  • I once saw a truck in China selling this playing grensleeves.

  • Woolworths brand is $1

    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/196943/woo…

Have tried both and I reckon the cheap one tastes better.

  • I agree that the woolies brand is about the same as the parsons in quality. They all seem to pick up that metallic taste from the tin though. Making your own in a pot is pretty simple. Plenty of nice recipes using just rice, milk, sugar and vanilla. Peaches on top recommended.
