Xiaomi Mi Smart Wi-Fi Socket with Mi Home App

Hey all,

I just received a few Xiaomi Mi Smart (Wi-Fi) Sockets but am having trouble setting them up with my Mi Home app.

I currently have a few Air Purifiers (3x 2H and 1x Pro) that work beautifully in Mi Home. However, when I attempt to add the smart socket, they communicate, the light turns blue but the actual device doesn't show up in the app.

I've read that this is a region issue and you have to select the "China mainland" server to pick the correct socket. However, when I did this, I can't add my 2H anymore as China only has the 2/2S models.

Anyone else able to add the Xiaomi Mi Smart (Wi-Fi) Sockets in Mi Home whilst set to Australia?

    I am not sure if you have the same one, but I needed a Xiaomi gateway to get my sensors and smart plugs to work.

      From my reading, I think that's for the Zigbee(?) version.

    I just created a second account since the air purifier doesn’t need regular wifi adjusting

    One on my email and one on my mobile number
