Eva Mattress or Sleep Republic

Looking to buy a new Queen Size mattress as my current one sucks and have been looking at brands such as Koala, Ecosa, Sleeping Duck, Macoda and Zzzatelier. However I've nailed it down to Eva and Sleep Republic. I found the other companies had too many mixed reviews and apparently some people were paid to write good reviews. I'm mainly a side sleeper and do suffer from shoulder and back pain.

Eva Mattress really entices me as it offers Pocket springs compared to Koala and Ecosa which are only foam. And apparently it keeps you cool in summer according to some reviews. The reviews also seem genuinely good, as I've watched youtube videos of a chiropractor reviewing the bed.

Sleep republic is really similar but a bit more expensive, but seems to also have genuine reviews.

  • IKEA. It's a mattress, you'll get used to it as it does to your body shape.

Other people's reviews, real or not, do not mean anything to your individual specific use case.

Either. You have a few months of trial for both. If the first doesn't suit you, get the other.

  • I won an Eva mattress on here a few months ago, and it's easily the best I've ever had. The wall of the mattress is rather tall,so you may need new sheets, and the top layer is super soft.

I initially had it plonked on-top of my old mattress, without the original bed base/boards between them, and I kept sinking into it like quick sand. I put the baseboards back on my bed, and it's pretty divine now.

Delivery was 3 days early. I got a text that it would be arriving (rural Victoria) on a Friday, but then on Tuesday morning, super early it arrived. The box has wheels, so it's pretty easy to move around by yourself, and it's pretty rad watching it all expand.

My only recommendation against it, is that you probably want to avoid drinking red wine in bed (am I the only one who does this in lockdown?), As the material seems pretty natural, soft and porous.

Good luck with your decision mate.

I own an Eva queen mattress purchased in April 2018 & it is a great mattress. it is on a queen frame purchased from fantastic furniture in a second bedroom in my house. my king ozmattress in the main bedroom was in need of replacement & I checked bed buyers Australia to ensure that Eva still scored well in the bed in a box category. As the ozmattress was on an ozmattress base I decided to go all in & purchase the Eva king mattress & base in November 2020 The Eva base is easy to assemble but the headboard mount is flimsy. I posted a video of this on product review. The mattress is ok but partner disturbance is quite noticeable. this could be due to Eva removing the top layer of micro coils as per bed buyers Australia. according to choice Australia the best bed in a box mattress is the Emma.

  • I have the Eva, it's not bad. Key selling point for me was it specifically mentioned "edge support", which it does, I suppose, if you compare it to an all foam mattress, but compared to Sealy or non BIAB, it's inferior.

Have not tried Sleep Republic, but like you I was choosing between Eva, Sleep Republic and Sleeping Duck.

I think I went with Eva because it was the cheapest 😂

Keep an eye out for discounts if you can wait, they all seem to have them regularly.

There is a wiki page here, but I think it is a bit out of date.
