On sale is this GaN charger from Baseus that's a little bit different to others. It has two USB-C ports with 65W USB Power Delivery making it suitable for charging laptops, Nintendo Switch etc, an orange USB port with 5A fast charging and a standard USB port.

What sets this apart is that there's a CN style plug on top of the charger that'll fit an AU plug. It's also a GaN charger so it's smaller, more lightweight and runs much cooler than a standard charger. There's also a 5A 100W USB-C to USB-C cable included.

that single outlet port bugs the shit out of me.

    • +1

      why?

    • Powerboard is your friend

  • +1

    Too many holes

    • +3

Well duh it's a multiport charger. You can get ones with a single hole if that's what you're into.

    • +3

      Not enough goals.

    Is it earthed ?

    • +40

      Yes we are on earth

      • Greetings, earthling.

        • Have you ever been to Earth?

I'd like to know if it's connected though.

I need to get an earthed power supply.

        • WHY?

          • +1

@Zilch: Because my current power supply isn't earthed.

    • We come in peace
Now where is our space time continuum?

  • If I was going into the office more than one in a blue moon I'd pick one of these up.
Have a 65w 2 port GaN which has been great for my minimalist work carry

  • I bought 2 of ZMI charger yesterday for my laptop. It's not GaN tho. It was around $40

Oh wow I didn't even see that deal. Impressive price.

Now lets see paul allens charger.

I don't like kogan, but this is still just a much better deal :

      https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/zendure-super-port-4-100w-dual-…

      • I saw some OzB comment regarding high pitch noise so I choose ZMI instead.

    • "fhqhfhqh" Did that deal you linked to not sell out on the 11/08 for that price?

Your user name is hard to spell lol.

  • people put these in their pocket?

    • I think it's more like throw it in your backpack and use it when necessary, rather than keep it on you.

    • That's such a dumb picture of a guy putting it in his pocket on the website - he has the cable sticking out

    • +7

"Is that 65W in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?"

  • Can this be used to potentially charge or at least keep two laptops plugged in?

Have a surface and a regular dell laptop, both utilise 60w chargers. Both use USB-C for power delivery.

    • +1

I added in the description what the distribution will be when both ports are used. So it'll be up to 45W in one USB-C port and up to 20W in the second USB-C port. Not suitable for charging 2 laptops quickly.

      • Yes, I did see the description. My laptops are plugged in all day, so does that mean even at 45/20w split, it won't enough juice to maintain a full charge?

        • +1

Depends on the power draw. For example, my surface book 3 when its doing light processor work will stay charged at 100% on my 25W USB C charger, but when the GPU is being used/CPU is in high performance mode the provided charger is rated at 102W to ensure sufficient power draw so that the battery doesn't discharge under heavy load (which the surface book 2 had some issues with).

  • I'll got the total payment of AU$57.83

Shipping: AU Direct Mail Estimated Delivery on Sep 18th-28th,2021

    AU$0.87

That's the cheapest option for me, but even minus $0.87 it's still no way near your amount.

so how did you get $56.40?

    • assuming it has something to do with cashback (www.shopback.com.au)

      • I don't think so, tried on different browser but still the same.

    • +1

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate

I set my currency to USD and convert it through Mastercard.

Many people have debit/credit cards without currency conversion fees added to PayPal. When you go to pay with PayPal, you select the card and set the currency to bill in USD. Then you should get a price the same or close to the current exchange rate.

      • Thanks for the information.

        It's worked.

  • +6

One less port but AU approved, local stock and warranty. If you prime $42.99 delivered

HEYMIX 65W USB C Charger 3-Port GaN Tech with 2 USB C and 1 USB A Port PD QC Charger AU Plug SAA Certificated (Black)

    • +1

I totally recommend this, i got one with multi adapters and cable, awesome charger.

    • Got this on your recommendation. Suits me better and comes in white. Cheers

    • Does not mention anywhere the max power capability when all 3 ports are in use.

      • on the pic of the charger down the bottom it says 40w + 22.5w, so 65w in total.

    • +1

I don't think you need Prime for the free shipping, given that it's fulfilled by Amazon and is over $39.

  • -1

will this charge my iPhone 13 Pro Max

  • What does it mean by 65W AND 100W?

    • The charger can do 65W and the cable supports 5A 100W charging.

  • -3

More expensive of course, but true 200W in the same size package. Sold out there, but can still be bought elsewhere.

    https://chargeasap.com/collections/usb-c-wall-chargers-with-…

    • These are the types of specs you want, 100w on both usb C ports simultaneous

    • Correct me if I'm wrong but it doesn't seem to mention the battery capacity?

      • +4

        That's because it's not a battery?

    • +3

      Nope. Wouldn't trust that company.

Had ordered the same charger on Kickstarter and it's been a year now since I ordered. Multiple delays and they have only just started shipping the chargers. Which some people have reported have had quality control issues like plastic coming off.

And they have the nerve to launch their next product a few weeks ago.

  • For your reference. same product selling in China is about 200RMB(~42.6AUD, price from Tmall)

  • Can the power cable be swapped with an AU outlet?

    • The cable plugs into an outlet.

I don't know hot you swap it.

  • +1

    bought one, thank you

    • me too.

  • Is that a CN/AU plug and a JP/US plug combined into the AC port?

    • +1

Yes you could say that. China uses 2 pin and 3 pin plugs. So they're backwards compatible with a few countries. For Australia it's out 3 pin but upside without the insulated pins.

      • Thanks. Looks like the AC side is fixed CN and not 2-pin IEC?

        • +1

          Yes

  • +1

Thanks OP. Bought one. Been looking for the perfect power strip for home and travel.

Edit: wishful thinking on the travel part

  • difficult to find the length of the cable for this one- anyone spotted that info?

  • Got an email this morning saying out of stock. Now expected to ship 7 September.

In addition to the comments above about cable length, does anyone know if the cable going to the wall is fixed or detachable (and if detachable, what kind of plug is involved)?

    • not 💯% sure but from the product pictures looks like the cable is permanently attached to the unit ( the strain relief bit showing looks like one on permanently attached cables)
I'd be interested to know how long i
      that cable is thought 🤔

      • +2

It says 1.5m in one of the pictures and it definitely looks fixed in the very bottom product shot, if it was intended to switch cables for different markets they'd usually use a figure 8 power cable- if this can unplug then it would be a different interface, which would be abnormal.

  • Can I use this between main outlet and powerboard if the powerboard draws less than 2500W (which it shouldn't exceed 2000W in the first place)?

  • My order hasn't been shipped yet. Anyone else's the same?

    • Yup.

    • Mine hasn't shipped either

    • Still not shipped?

    • Still not shipped

      • Banggood is showing it to be back in stock on their website ("Notify me" changed to "Buy now") since at least this Monday.

I contacted their support team to ask why it still has not been shipped to me despite being back in stock. Their reply was "the website is still showing out of stock" (so obviously lying or could not be bothered to even check the status).

I probably give it another week and then ask for a refund.

    • I've requested a refund - they don't make it easy
