FYI all, looks like Toll going on strike this Friday:

On the bright side, at least Toll's service will be predictable on Friday - and not up to their usual level of excellence /s :)

94% of the workforce in favour of the strike indicates to me who’s in the right in this scenario
Having worked in the transport industry for long time in the past in a heavily unionized site - if its a union site, it doesn't pay to vote against the crowd..
Things may have changed, but that was my experience
Wisdom of the crowds, look how that turned out. I am pretty sure the North Korea government gets 99% of the votes too, that tells you the North Korean people are right.
Sir, you dropped your boot to lick
Some people just don't appreciate their workers until they lose them…
I don't trust unions. But I also don't trust multinational companies. So when they accuse each other of dishonesty as per the article, they're likely both right…
Depends on which country. Unions in Germany have representation on the board. Also cooperate during recession to try to keep the company afloat. Meanwhile unions like those in pre bankrupt GM USA didn't believe it will go bust and the pensioners ended up paying fees and a hair cut.
This is going to take a Toll on our parcel deliveries…
Seems from the article that there is a bit of BS going on with wages, which is always a sad situation.
Let's see if there is a remedy to this before Friday!
Hopefully they take the toll roads to speed up deliveries
Don't know they will be able to cover the cost of Tolls though? Isn't that part of the problem, hence the stop-work strike? - Wage dispute…
That is completely different to what the Toll strike is about. The Toll strike is about cutting wages and bringing in more low paid contractors, the truckies whining about a basic WHS requirement to reduce the spread of disease is a bunch of people with their usual complaining on the internet. It has zero support from unions or transport organisations. The transport industry has been calling for priority access to vaccination, not exemptions from it, because they're at higher risk.
A strike would be very limited. A blockade would be completely illegal and they'll quickly be arrested.
Solidarity with the workers. They deserve a decent wage and working conditions.
this is more about the plandemic than anything
Toll said its workers earn an average of about $95,000 a year and receive superannuation of 14.75 per cent, noting that was one of the better deals in the industry.
However Mr Kaine (TWU national secretary Michael Kaine) argued it was not about money.

aren't toll always on strike? I think Ive picked up more deliveries from the depo than actually get delivered
So instead of waiting expectantly for my Toll parcel on Friday and not getting it, I now know for certain I won't get it!
Now to think of another way to waste my time in this lockdown….
Could be worse… I am expecting a delivery from Fastway. I cringe when I see them as a delivery partner.
Order something from both Aramex and Couriers Please, 100% guaranteed to waste your time :)
