Another eBay sale incoming: 15% off for non Plus members 17% for Plus members

In the t&c's:

Seller obligations

7.You shall not increase the listing price of any of the Included Items and/or items within the Included Categories for a period of at least ten (10) days prior to the start of each Offer Period. You warrant that at no time prior to the Offer Period will you increase the listing price for any item so as to make the Coupon Offer/s appear more attractive. You agree to act in good faith at all times in connection with the Coupon Offer/s.

    Is that a new requirement, or was it always there?
    Usually looking at the "sold" ones on the ad page (if there's any) will provide all the info, unless the seller creates a new ad for the item.
    Btw I have ebay plus but I haven't bought anything in a long time during these sale events, the only good sales for me were the afterpay ones (bought 1 item recently and one in June).

    I really wonder what sellers get out of this. They're still paying the same ebay fees, then also pay for the discount, the loss of 14% means they'd have to sell a boatload more to make the same profit (after ebay/transaction fees 14% is probably about all your average IT parts seller makes on a sale).

    Ebay losses 1-3%, gains massive number of buyers buying stuff. It's nuts.

    Really doesn't seem like a 'ebay promotion' when the seller is funding most of it :)
