Best Laptop for Video Editing and Photoshop (under $1500)

Been tempted to get a macbook lately, but thought Id see what other windows options are out there for now.

Im so out of the loop with laptop processors.

Are there any that can support video and photo editing without a discrete gpu?

Any 2 in 1?

Thanks everyone

    https://www.metabox.com.au/

I would highly recommend Metabox, I have one personal and got one for a family friend + for an employee at work.

2 in 1 probably wouldn't work too well. It's hard to get a decent off the shelf from JB or Harvey that is under $1500 and is a 2 in 1.

I have a metabox for my tech dev work, I don't game with it.

Your best bet for computers without discrete GPU is the Apple M1 processor. This will likely also be faster than the same $1500 Windows box with lower end GPU.

Final Cut Pro X is optimised, PS is coming or already optimised, and there's more apps available too.

    So a student/refurb/sale M1 Macbook Pro for $1500-600

  • Wait for something like this to come up

Or get a macbook pro, the integration with video editing programs is second to none.

Macbook air with the M1 chip.

I have the mac mini, 8gb, it's a beast for editing. Using Davinci resolve, and they just released an update to optimize for the M1 making it even faster.

  • I'm a long term windows fan, and I even bought a macbook pro.

    • Bad right? So tempting. And now so reasonably priced. I remb it was basically a meme that apple was expensive, but now theyre often the much better value option.
