So after 6 years my Dyson hand held stick has finally died on me today.
Can I please get some recommendation on a stick vacuum that is under $400 please.
Doesn’t need to be Dyson but something someone has tried and loved
Thankyou x

This. Xiaomi is the best bang for buck, and a leader too. Get the Xiaomi g
g10 vacuum as it has the rotating brush for carpets.
I have the Electrolux ergorapido and like it. This is my second one, the battery life wasn’t great on our first one (7-8years ago) but bought another 3-4years ago and it’s going great. Can clean a 4bdr house in one charge. Much more ergonomic than Dyson. We still use our big vac once a week or fortnight but this is great in between for crumbs dog hair etc.
Thankyou for your suggestion I will look into it :)
I’m assuming it was a V6? If you’ve had a Dyson before it’s hard to suggest anything else - some might have better suction or an extra feature or 2 but the Dyson is a pretty decent overall package… plus there’s so many aftermarket tools and spares around!
A Dyson V7 can be had around $350-$400 most days of the week. If you’re coming from a V6, you’ll appreciate the larger floor head, the super easy to empty dustbin (I don’t think any other company does this particular thing better), and longer runtime. If you can stretch it, a V8 for ~$450-$500 would be better still.
We have a V7 and a V8 in our household, on standard mode they’re practically identical, the V8 just lasts a little longer on a charge. Both fantastic - they handle the abundant Labrador hair in my house with ease.
It was a Dyson v5 animal I believe ,it’s had a long life considering :) thankyou for your feed back I’ll look into your suggestion.. I’ve only got a small carpet area and the rest of the house is tiles , but with little kids making a mess where the carpet is I use it 5 times a day :)
It’s really hard not to recommend another Dyson! Good luck, let us know which way you end up going :)
Xiaomi and Kogan have a pretty good fan base compared to Dyson, but personally I haven’t tried yet as I’m also waiting for my Dyson to die.
