Vuly Thunder Vs Thunder Pro

Hi All

Been looking at getting a Vuly trampoline for the kids.
Have already decided it will be a leaf spring trampoline.

That leaves me with only a decision on which one: Thunder or Thunder Pro.

As far as I can tell the only differences are:
1. Bigger leaf springs on the Pro - bigger better bounce
2. Black powder coat on the Pro - better rust resistance? looks better?
3. Better safety net material on the Pro - softer on the skin when you rub up against it?
4. Poles are further out from the netting on the Pro - gives less chance of banging into a pole when jumping around?

Am I missing anything?

As far as I can tell, the Thunder seems to be actually better value for money, unless you really need those big bounces?
Any input from those who have experience with either of these models would be appreciated.

Cheers
mqi

  • Hi mqi,

I'm pondering the exact same decision… Although I just can't seem to understand the premium placed on the thunder. At nearly double, I just can't seem to justify it…

  • I believe my conclusions above are correct.

Plus the gap between net and poles is 25cm more on the pro vs the thunder. Hence more buffer space in event of accidentally flying into the net and banging the pole.

I ended up and pulled the trigger and got the L thunder.

It’s way cheaper than the M thunder pro and has the same outer external dimensions but you get 50% more internal bounce area.

Just watch out for the upper safety poles. Got them installed backwards and now it’s a nightmare to fix it

  • Thanks mqi, I pulled the trigger on the Thunder medium. $999 with free delivery seems to be a pretty good deal…..

Did you just install it yourself?

    • Yea that’s how I found out my mistake.

  • How was it to install otherwise? I've heard it's a pain in the ass, although I'm not sure if it's easier to put together the thunder models…

    • Let's just say I'd pay the $200 install fee in a heartbeat if I knew what I know now. It is so worth it in the opinion of the sore muscles and joints I have right now…..unless you enjoy that kinda thing…

They do reccomend two person install and admittedly I was doing 90% of install myself and only got a bit of help from wife (she was looking after two young kids).

  • Hi @mqi - I have just started doing the research and will be great if you can share your insights reg the pros-cons for leaf springs. I have 2 kids - age 4 and 8. I was also thinking of springless but not too sure. Appreciate any help!

    • Basically, I'd say leaf springs are better to give you a more uniform bounce and deeper bounce vs spring.
If you have the budget for them, get them.

I can't see any point in paying for thunder pro unless you like the points I listed above on the differences.
