Telstra Locator is Being Discontinued

I just received the following email from Telstra. I got the free pack that was posted as a deal and ordered a couple of extra tags however to be honest they never really worked that well for me and the app seemed fairly buggy so I'm not surprised to see this.

Hi Adam,

We wanted to let you know that we are discontinuing Telstra Locator from 19 November 2021.

What this means for you
As a Telstra Plus Gold member, you received a complimentary subscription for Telstra Locator. We can see you have not activated the offer, so this change will not affect you.
What's next?
If you have downloaded the app, please manually delete it from your device and dispose of any tags at your local recycling centre or your nearest Telstra store. If you do nothing, the app will remain on your device and will stop working.

If you purchased a Telstra Locator in the past 12 months, you will see a credit on your bill by November 2021.

To thank you for being a Telstra Plus member, we will add 5,000 Telstra Plus points to your Telstra Plus account.

    That's strange how you're getting 5,000 points, my email stated they are giving me 20,000 points

    • Yes it was also strange my email stated I haven't activated the offer but I definitely had.

    Considering the product is not faulty and they are effectively making it useless I kind of feel I should get a refund. This product should have worked for years.

    I had both wifi and Bluetooth devices about 8 of them .

    Typical of Telstra products that fail in the market, like the T-Box. Had a perfectly working product, with decent hardware, made useless with a forced FW update to decomission the majority of it's features.

    Got the email saying it was ending. Then a apology today saying I never activated. But they'll still give me 20k points

    We sent you an email on 19 August letting you know that Telstra Locator is being discontinued from 19 November 2021.

    The email incorrectly mentioned that you had not activated your complimentary Telstra Locator subscription. We can see that you have activated the offer, and we want to let you know that from 19 November 2021, your Telstra Locator will no longer be able to track your Tag and devices.

    We also advised we were applying 5,000 bonus Telstra Plus points to your account, when it should have been 20,000 bonus Telstra Plus points. Your 20,000 points will be available within 10 business days.

    We’re sorry for this error and any confusion caused.
