Data SIM Long Expiry Required

Hi All,

Last year I purchased Catch Connect SIM with 1 year data expiry. Now it’s about time for renewal and I found it’s going to take $120 to renew for a year and my original purchase was $50 or less. I don’t use the number or use the data much. I use this SIM card for a 4G dongle in my car which is connected to my dashcam for suspicious activity. I actually caught someone trying to kick my car and damage my neighbour’s car once.
Now provided my need what are my options to purchase another SIM elsewhere with long data plan ? My download data is very min a year but more uploads.

Please give me some out of the box cost saving options.

    $10 per 365 days on Amaysim "As You Go" plan.

    Just pay for calls and data you use. I think you can add on data packs but sadly these only last 28 days. Technically if you use no calls, the $10 credit should give you 138 MB over the year. If it doesn't count uploads, maybe that's all you need?

    I’m looking for the cheapest solution for data. As I’ll never use it to make phone calls. I’ll use data probably 2 GB throughout the year. Looking at Amaysim or Optus it’s not cost effective as the data expires.
    Aldi SIM I’ll look into the plans. Can I buy this from my local Aldi store or have to order online ?

    Seriously this is sad not having a small data to last long term. With wifi devices available we can use this a lot.

    Guys I just checked catch connect is offering me $90 60GB for a year.
    I just checked my account balance I used 12GB data a year and I’ll need similar data pack for a year.
    Aldi PAYG $0.05 per MB is more expensive than catch connect deal.

    Do I have any other cost effective option ? I didn’t make a single call using catch connect SIM.

    Hello All before I renew with catch connect for another year paying $90 is there any other options?

    I can’t tell how catch connect is calculating my data usage. I went online to see I’ve used 12GB downloads and no uploads. This is very strange.
    I use the wifi dongle to connect to my Blackvue Dashcam it uploads data to the cloud and I can pull live view on my iPhone which is with Telstra.

    Am I correct with my analysis? If this is the case 1) Catch connect is cheating me 2) I don’t need much download data for which Aldi SIM works out the cheapest option for me.
