    Working from home sorted

  • Purchased one for the wife a week ago and she loves it.

  • Good idea for an old parachute. I prefer slim fit.

    • what use is an old parachute?

I really don't understand the fascination with these, my daughter got one and it just looks ridiculously stupid to me but hey, each to their own I guess?

    • +3

Well for the comfort and warmth level who cares if it looks silly really? Unless you plan on going to the shops in it I guess.

      • +5

Yeah, she wears it to the shops (I refuse to go anywhere with her if she's got it on)….It's the modern day equivalent of wearing a dressing gown out in the middle of the day to me

        • There was a time when ugg boots looked silly… Get ahead of the curve. lol

          • +10

@Scootex: I'm still in that camp, ugg boots do look silly (well bogan if you really want to put a word on it) if worn out in the middle of the day

        • +1

Except a night gown or bathrobe is much longer and fits better, therefore warmer at half the price.

Kids are weird though, I'm related to some that are okay with wearing slippers to the store.

        • what exactly is the fear/issue you have with going to the shops with your child dressed how they want to be dressed? i'm a bit lost. she's a kid wearing something warm. from memory the struggle was always getting a kid to wear something warm when it was cold. this seems like a (albeit, severely overpriced for what it is) win?

          • +4

@lulzenberg: She's 18….not really a kid in my eyes but if it was one of my younger ones, that's a different situation. For example I'll let my toddler come to Woolies in a dressing down and PJ's to grab dessert after dinner but she's not wearing that at lunch time.

        • +1

Yeah these are ridiculous to leave the house in. Unless of course you actually wear 6XL clothes..

The 25 dollars discount is always present throughout the year. I will say that's hardly considered a deal since its their usual discount therefore it's their usual price.

    • +4

I challenge you to buy an oodie at full RRP.

Same like the Kathmandu all year sales, Kitchenwares stores that are constantly ‘closing down’ and the repeating spam from the Ugg company that tries to claim they’re the ‘last and only’ Australian company.

All of these ‘sales’ posts can seriously be in the forum.

IMO, this is so bulky and inconvenience to wear and walk around. occupy large storage space and not econmically for washing.

  • fyi - i've seen oodie ads on fb with $30 discount in the last few days

  • Snuggie or oodie guys?

  • My partner received one as a gift a year or 2 ago, its been great, though our son has claimed it and uses it every night.
We have since ordered him one for either xmas or birthday, it came within about 5 days.

Oh and the 30 0ff was a fri 13th thing

I bought Snuggets from Cotton On for the kids and they love it. Quality is great, super soft and snuggly, and at a fraction of the cost. Currently 30% off.

    Use code OMDM30 for $30 off…

  • +6

    It's literally always $25 off

This oversized hoodie thing was once a famous drop-shipping business niche. Not sure if this Oodie brand is any different from the ones found in ali-express.

edit: found the youtube channel of the founder. He talks about how this business started.

  • I recently bought a few oodies. The "sales" makes no different to any other sales they have and I see as the standard price as others have said. I have seen $30 off with youtuber codes which is the best value to get a discount outside of the packs especially if you want a licensed design which you cannot buy with packs/bundles

Imagine the face of that guy from Ghana that was on the abc when he opens a bale full of this rubbish

    • I know you were referring to this:
      https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-08-12/fast-fashion-turning-…

But they way you put it made me think of Khaby Lame while visualising the reaction in my head, LOL.

      • Yes there was one part in the video where he find a dirty shirt and the abc reporter asked if he was offended and he replied straight up “yes. It’s offensive”. Imagine this lol

By the way after watching that doco I will definitely make sure I donate my clothes locally. It’s ridiculous how much clothing is ending up in Africa. The whole second hand thing is basically just an cover for first world countries to get rid of their rubbish.

  • I ordered one for my son end of July 2021 and am yet to receive it. They sent me a tracking number to track my package and it showed it was going to be delivered 2 weeks ago. I contacted Oodie who took 7 days to respond to my message. They don't even have a phone number I can call, so I am forced to wait for their reply. In parallel, I contacted Australia Post and they confirmed that the parcel is missing (the last tracking update showed that it was onboard for delivery somewhere in QLD, when it should have been onboard for delivery in NSW). I have now asked Oodie to contact Australia Post directly and sort it out. That was yesterday. I will wait for another 10 days or I will contact my bank to reverse the charges on my credit card.

    • Mate how's long can you actually wait, when does the finance company tel you is too late?

They are quite heavy. If you have back problems, don't buy them.

    • I was hoping for this, perfect, so they are heavy and all compressing like a blanket.

  • My partner ended up buying a Cosy Kuma instead, which was a fair bit cheaper than the Oodies but surprisingly have a lot of the same designs available. When compared to my niece's (gf bought a matching koala one) it's quite hard to tell the difference between the two and the only giveaway is that the Oodie has a larger front pouch. Funnily enough though she finds the extra large pouch on the Oodie annoying since anything you put inside it will make the entire jumper sag down.

  • As a fat person, I worry that these will just fit me like my normal clothes… :(

    • its 6xxl equalivant, you gotta be beyond just fat to fill these out.

  • There's another $30 code. Either WINTERGIVEAWAY or just GIVEAWAY (from abandoned cart email, didn't test).
